Linz Climate
The rainy months, June through August, receive the majority of the annual rainfall, which totals about 34 inches (864 mm). Winter temperatures range between 27°F and 37°F (-3°C and 3°C), and snowfall is abundant during January and February. May to September is the best time to visit, with temperatures around 68°F (20°C).
Getting There & Around
The Linz Airport, also called the Blue Danube, lies about 6 miles (10 km) southwest of the town's centre. Flights served by the airport are both domestic and international with connections to and from Frankfurt, Vienna and Dusseldorf. Additional seasonal flights are added during winter and summer. There are several transportation options to reach Linz from the airport.
There is a Western Railway central station in Linz, as well as various types of river transportation on the Danube. Public transport is offered through trams, buses and trolleybuses. Located at the northwestern edge of town, the Pöstlingbergbahn tramway is a unique way to see the area.
