WHEN TO GO
· Most of the year in the Yarra is quite mild, if not a bit cooler than Melbourne.
· The rainfall is significantly heavier in this area, mostly in spring, which is one of the reasons the wine region flourishes.
· For the warmest and driest time to wander around the wineries, you can’t beat a January visit.
GETTING AROUND
· There are a couple of bus companies running services around the Yarra, which are a pretty cheap option if you’re sticking to a budget.
· There is fantastic cycling country around the Yarra Valley, with many travellers choosing to explore on two wheels.
· To really get the most out of the Yarra Valley, you should either jump on a tour bus or drive your own wheels.
