Luna Park and the Sydney Harbour Bridge share a common legacy in fact. Both date back to the early 1930s and today, serve as important heritage landmarks and prominent points of interest in Sydney. While the park has had a rocky history at various times, it re-opened to the public at large in 2004 after extensive renovations. A frequent backdrop in film and television, Luna Park is the only amusement park in Australia on the Register of the National Estate. Popular rides and points of interest in the park include The Wild Mouse roller coaster, Skylab Ferris Wheel and Coney Island funhouse. Luna Park’s Big Top has a capacity of well over 2,000 people and hosts many events throughout the year.
