Bondi Beach

Located just seven kilometres from Sydney’s central business district, the picturesque Bondi Beach is one of the most famous and popular beaches in Australia. This one-kilometre stretch of sand and surf has been welcoming sunbathers and brave surfers since the early 1900’s and continues to be a mainstay for those visiting New South Wales. Bondi Beach Top 3

  • Visit Sydney in winter and join the Bondi Beach Icebergs for a chilling and exhilarating dip in the cold water.
  • Come to Bondi Beach in February when the best skateboarders in Sydney and the world converge for the thrilling Van’s Bowl-A-Rama skateboarding competition.
  • Buy some of the best produce in Sydney at the Bondi Beach Market, which is open every Sunday and features an array of exotic treats.

Getting There

Public transportation in Sydney can be trying and expensive, but finding parking near Bondi Beach is even worse, so visitors are advised to take one of the buses that leave every ten minutes from the city centre to Bondi Junction. There is also a train that connects Bondi Beach to Town Hall, which takes about fifteen minutes. To save money, a good tip for tourists spending more than three days in the area is to buy a MyMulti-1 weekly pass that is good for any type of public transport.
