Mount Isa Climate

The climate of Mount Isa is hot and semi-arid with annual rainfall of about 411 mm. The area enjoys mild temperatures with low humidity from May to August, as well as hot temperatures with low humidity from September to December and hot temperatures with high humidity from January to April. It is best to visit when temperatures are between 20 and 30ºC. 

Getting There & Around

The town is connected to Birdsville, Charlesville and Normanton by Macair. Regular services to Townsville, Longreach and Brisbane are available with Greyhound Australia. There is a rail service between the town and Townsville by Queensland Rail.

A 35-vehicle taxi service is available for Mount Isa and neighbouring places. Isa-curry, a taxi service, carries passengers to the neighbouring Cloncurry and back again.
