Gladstone Climate

With its location on the coastal strip, Gladstone is always warm and sunny with an average annual temperature of 84°F (29°C). Warm ocean waters keep the area from extreme temperatures, so summers are hot and rainy while winters are mild and dry. With an annual rainfall of 31 inches (800 mm), most of the precipitation falls during the summer months of December through March.

Getting There & Around

Travellers can reach Gladstone by air through the Gladstone Airport, which is located about six miles (10 km) from the city's centre. For those travelling from within Australia, the city can be reached with the Port Pirie/Broken Hill railway. Boaters can reach the area by docking at the Gladstone Marina.

Getting around the city is done by taxi, on foot or cycling. Car hire is also available to those who want to explore other destinations surrounding the city.
