Cowra has a warm, temperate climate with warm summers and cool winters. Summer temperatures during November through March range between 78°F (26°C) and 88°F (31°C); fall, winter and spring temperatures are 55°F (13°C) to 71°F (22°C). Average rainfall is 25 inches (635 mm).

Getting There & Around

Since the Cowra Airport operates only private and chartered flights, most visitors fly to the Orange, Parkes or Bathurst airports, with daily flights to Sydney.

Upon arrival, visitors hire a car or walk about. There are coaches and coach tours in the area, as well as trains that travel to surrounding towns. Driving a hired car via the Mid Western or Hume Highways gets travellers to major cities such as Sydney and Melbourne.
