Popular Destinations near Coffs Harbour
Favourite Cities and Hotels in Australia

A small coastal city in New South Wales, Coffs Harbour is one of the premier and most desirable destinations to commune with Australia's remarkable biodiversity. From National Parks and reserves, to marine parks with colorful underwater ecosystems, Coffs Harbour has it all. While fauna and flora draw tens of thousands of tourists to the region every year, the most conspicuous monument in Coffs Harbour is the Big Banana. The first in Australia's now-famous collection of mammoth landmarks, Big Banana was built in 1964 to drum up publicity for a banana plantation. Other points of interest in the city of 70,000 include the Regional Botanic Garden, Mangrove Boardwalk and Emerald Beach. The inherent natural beauty of National Parks like Bongil Bongil, Juney Juluum, Yuraygir, Ulidarra, Bindarri and Nymboi-Binderay is the bread and butter of Coffs Harbour tourism however. Solitary Islands Marine Park and Hayden Dent Nature Reserve are also popular destinations in the area.

Captivating Coffs Harbour

Nestled in a unique position in northern New South Wales, Coffs Harbour sits between the majestic Aussie east coast with its unrivalled beaches, and the lush valleys bordering the Great Dividing Range. Which means that for sun, sand and surf (and giant bananas), there is no better place in the country than Coffs Harbour.

Coffs, as the locals call it, is the kind of place where you can do as much or as little as you like. Discover a hidden treasure trove of natural splendour in the Coffs Harbour Botanic Garden, take a boat cruise from the harbour and come across the majestic lighthouse perched atop the rocky outcrop of South Solitary Island, or just chill out as you cruise along the Coffs Harbour coast – beer in hand – on the Spirit of Coffs Harbour.
