Reception staff were not very helpful and not customer focused. Restaurant staff were very friendly. The pelican feeding nearby was a great experience.

With a 2 1/2 hour time difference, and only 2 night at KI, I was woken by the sound of drilling outside my bedroom window at 7:30 am, and had to skirt around building materials to leave my poolside room. While I was offered alternative accommodation, it involved now needing a roller bed, which came out of the arc. I was advised that I had 2 choices, either go back to the room undergoing renovations, or pay to have a second room. Neither option was acceptable.

The best choice if you arriving the island by plane late in the afternoon. Great location and very good restaurant. I think is overpriced because the hotel rooms are a little bite old, but everywhere is overprice in Kangaroo Island.

Way over-priced for the standard offered. The hotel has the feel of standard accommodation in the Eastern Europe bloc of yore. Or worse, of accommodation in one of England's more down-market seaside resorts! The restaurant has the feel of a school canteen. The sauna was not working. The bedroom, while clean and comfortable, had paper-thin walls and a coughing, spluttering, hawking man in the room next door kept me awake most of the two nights I was there. As in the rest of Australia, there was no regard for the single traveller: you havev to pay for two people regardless. And in the case this hotel (booked on line) I would not have thought it was value for money even if there had been two of us.

We stayed in one of the rooms above the bistro area (standard double room). The room was clean but the facilities in the room were a bit too old fashion. There was no bathtub and the bathroom was very very small. It was very convenient location. The more upmarket rooms across the road from where we stayed (which is still part of Ozone) looked very new and fabulous ...we wished we stayed there instead..but overall the hotel wasn't bad. The staff were very friendly.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Kingscote. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location on the seafront is ideal for the lovely scenery and handy for the local shops. We ate in the hotels Sports Bar and enjoyed a very nice meal. We were upgraded to the newer part of the hotel and these rooms were excellent, we even had a sea view which was nice.

Good situation, although have to cross main road from rooms to all other hotel facilities, including reception. Good size rooms. Food service excellant and very helpful, as my wife has to eat Gluten Free.

Very friendly staff in hotel, little disappointed we did not stay in the new part, however, clean comfortable, would stay there again.

It is a quite simple hotel, no luxury, in a great location. The ocean view room had the perfect view. The room was cleaned daily. Hotel staff was very friendly. There are stairs to access most of the rooms, so elders and travelers with big bags need to be aware.

Price is a little excessive for the quality of room. Breakfasts are expensive. Otherwise, fairly quiet and pleasant place to stay.

If you use the new KI Ferries service to/from Kingscote it's only a 5 minute walk! Great food at the Bistro for breakfast and dinner (too busy touring to see what lunch was like!). Friendly and smiling staff everywhere! Made you feel right at home, like family! Early check-out is a killer (10:00).

This is the 5th stay we have had at the Ozone. On four occasions we have taken overseas visitors. Friendly staff; good holiday spot.

We were expecting a view of the seafront, but were dissapointed to find that our room overlooked a tin roof. The restaurant was always very busy and you had to line up for almost half an hour for dinner. When we tried to change our room for a better view we were allowed to do so, or it would only be for one night. The noise from the hallways would echo. It was all very pricey for your average aussie hotel. I think KI was lovely but next time I will look elsewhere for accomodation.
