Inexpensive hotel for sleeping, but small with few amenities. The room did have a hairdryer and small fridge. Great location only a 15 minute walk to the Duomo. Staff is very friendly. Breakfast buffet is typical Italian fare.

Access to this hotel is via a staircase/lift lobby that is very grotty and unwelcoming. Once you get past this and actually enter the small reception the hotel itself (although fairly basic) is adequte. The staff were very helpful in booking day tours etc. Although the rooms were satisfactory and clean they were not very sound proof and you could hear talking and the plumbing from the adjoining rooms. There was also no English TV channels, which after being away from home for a while you are really hanging out to hear the news of the world. Breakfast was a typical cold contintental, and the coffee was good. The convenience of the position in relation to the train station and all the major attractions certainly makes this a good base in Florence if you are not seeking luxury.
