Atheneum Suites Hotel Detroit Guest Reviews (7)
We had a wonderful experience! We checked in and were offered a free shuttle throughout the night, so we took advantage of it when we traveled to a show at the Detroit Opera House. Before leaving for the show, we dined at Fishbones, which is attached to the hotel. The food was AMAZING! After the show finished, the shuttle returned and whisked us back to the hotel quickly. We ordered late night room service and everything was prepared as we requested and delivered promptly. The room was large and luxurious, but it was "scented" with a room freshener that tickled my sensitive nose, those with allergies beware! All in all, it was beautiful and we will definitely return! Noontime check-out was appreciated, as we lounged all morning!

We stayed at the Atheneum Hotel on the night that we saw Wicked at the Detroit Opera House. It was an excellent choice. There were 5 of us staying in the suite, and the 2 queen beds and the sofa provided plenty of room for us all to sleep comfortably. The rooms were spacious, and it was nice to have 2 televisions that weren't competing with one another in terms of the sound. The kids watched one tv, and the older kid/adults watched the other. We ordered room service because we had had a long day, and the pizza and salads provided enough food for all to be satisfied. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance, also. The beds were comfortable, and the bathroom was beautiful (the plug in the tub didn't work, but that didn't bother us because our kds are old enough to take showers). The play was a short drive away, and we were able to take the hotel's shuttle there, which was great because we didn't have to worry about parking or negotiating the traffic! The shuttle was waiting to pick us up right when we got out of the play. What convenience! The staff was knowledgeable, courteous, and friendly. Overall, we couldn't have asked for a better experience. There are two small things that could have been changed, but they didn't affect our stay in an overly negative way. The "living room" has a wall of glass blocks that allow the light from the hallway to come in even in the middle of the night. There is a door in between the living and sleeping areas, so it really wasn't a problem for us and it provided a "nightlight" for our daughter who slept on the couch. The other thing I would recommend would be to have a sleeper sofa in the living room, although perhaps that is intentional so that larger families will reserve the two bedroom suites. If we ever go to Detroit for an event again and need to stay over night, we would definitely consider staying at the Atheneum.

The staff was great and the hotel room was amazing! When we got to our room upon checkin, it wasn't ready. A quick trip back down to the front desk and an awesome staff totally took care of us with an even more beautiful room! W

I have worked in the customer service industry for over 20 years. It has always been my goal to give my customers the absolute best experience possible from the beginning of the transaction until the end. I want my customers to come back because of the service they received and also refer us to others. This is exactly what I experienced at Atheneum from Marie at the valet; Darnell the doorman, the ladies at the front desk to housekeeping everyone seemed to have a mission "Customer Satisfaction"....Mission Accomplished!!! To top off the amazing service my room was absolutely beautiful.....I will definitely stay here again. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we had an enjoyable stay and invited us to say with them again. We got great recommendations of local eateries and things to check out while in the city. Thanks again for all of your help and impeccable service you provided.
