Great condo right on the beach - the view is spectacular. We saw dolphins and turtles right from the Lanai. Very clean. The washer and dryer are a great plus, pack light and save yourself the baggage fee.

Thoroughly enjoyed the Aston Mahana. We could sit on our balcony and see whales in the distance. Adjacent to the complex is a boardwalk that connects area resorts you can easily walk the beach or boardwalk with great views on either. The kitchen had everything you need to cook and there is an in unit washer & dryer. Great value for the money. We will definitely return.

The view from the room is GREAT, however due to the location it was quite windy and has high percentage of rain showers (you can go 5 miles south where it is not windy or rain at the same day). But overall it is quite good. Meet my expectation.

This was our second stay at the Mahana and it was just as great as the first. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Do we plan to stay again, absolutely! There are a lot of things in walking distance and the beaches are great. Snorkeling was good all along our beach. Plus driving into Lahiana was a short 10 minute drive. Hope to come back in 2012. There is a grocery store and a couple of restaurants across the street. Duke's is a very short walk along the beach. Great place to stay.

This was our 6th stay at the Mahana and all was again fantastic. Friendly and helpful staff, extraordinary views of the Pacific and neighboring islands, comfortable room accomodations. We will be back.

The view is unmatched (especially for whale watching), the beach is quiet, the room has a full kitchen, AIR conditioning, and washer and dryer. Not to mention very good wifi. Our bed was uncomfortable and our floor was never clean but besides that it was perfection. When you book with a travel site you are charged a $10 day fee which is well worth it because you get free beach towels (replaced whenever you want), free dishwashing and laudry detergent, free coffee for your coffee maker and daily room cleaning. Which is really unheard of for a condo. This can save you a lot of money and time at the grocery store and doing laundry. WELL worth it. Keep an eye out for the turtle that hangs out in the reef just in front of the pool.

The Mahana is in a great location! All units face the beach, awesome! Our room could have been alot cleaner, thank goodness that I carry Clorax Wipes, kitchen needed lots of attention. Beds and bed linens old and worn out. MAJOR dust bunnies. Carpets stained. When asked if we could have another room, young man at desk became kind of snarky and blew us off. Maybe a change of room would have made us 100% happy, but we will never know. Did I mention that the Mahana is in a great location! We made our decision to stay here from previous reviews, people need to be honest, trips depend on it. My advise, check out your room first and be very persistent to get what you want and deserve.

All the rooms in this place are facing the ocean. Its right on the beach and you get great views of the sunrise/sunset. Our room was nice, clean and had all the amenities but nothing very special. The staff was friendly and helpful for our questions. The hotel is also close to a shopping center.

Our room was perfect, the view was to die for. All of the staff were friendly and made us feel very welcome. It was clean and very quite,,,the perfect vacation. It was very quite since there was not a restaurant or bar on site but there wonderful places to go within walking distance. I would recommend this hotel to everyone, well worth the money!!

We had a great time at the Mahana. The condo was fantasic! The view from our room was marvelous. Just a couple of steps to the beach where we use the two boogie boards or explore our own coral reef. The place was spotless, kitchen full of appliances, pots and pans, dishes and utensils. Two full baths made it very convenient for getting ready in the morning. There was even a washer and dryer. A grocery store and restaurants were close by which made it very nice if you wanted to make something to eat or go out.

We walked in and we were WOWed! The view was simply spectacular! We didn't spend much time at the hotel but when we were there it was wonderful. The grassy area has chairs to relax at and I loved how there were signs out to turn off/down cell phones and electronic devices so it was quiet and peaceful. I'm already planning our next visit!

As my wife and I love to sleep to the sound of the waves we chose this location as it was the closest to the ocean. You can read in the other reveiws about the coral right outside but that doesn't mean you can't sit and read on the shore or walk 400 feet either way to go in... besides....you don't go often so you should spend time at several beaches they offer on Maui. We checked out 4 others and enjoyed each for different reasons. If you want to carp about the in room safe needing a key over a punch code or the iffiness of the wake up call you can find something to find fault with. I enjoyed the free DVDs in the machine downstairs for when we'd still be on our mainland clock and up too early to start our day. New wi-fi was installed while we were there for those who NEED it while on Maui. All in all...great!

Nice lobby area, pool and hot tub were fine. View from balcony was great. Nice to have a kitchen and washer/dryer. The room could use some updating. Pictures needed cleaning, carpet needed cleaning. Bed linens were not changed during our stay. There was an additional $10/day ammenity fee (coffee, laundry detergent, & newspaper). Had to ask for coffee and laundry detergent on several occassions.

With few exceptions --- no fitness center or room service --- a quest could not ask for anything more! We went to sleep each night being serenaded by the ocean which was, for all intent and purpose, ... our front yard! Every room faces the ocean ... didn't believe it until we arrived. And our room ... suite ... full kitchen, washer/dryer ... wall to wall/floor to ceiling windows with a private Lania ---terrace ... Great!!! We walked next door in either direction to resorts with splendid ocean front restaurants ... a little pricy but worth every cent in terms of service, atmosphere, menu, and presentation. I have never felt so connected to a place so fast ... we were so central to everything on the Island ... and almost everyone we asked for help or directions was spot on ... went out of their way. A splendid mix of old and new Hawaii with an emphasis and appreciation of tradition ... complete with rain forest, breathtaking mountain to ocean views and world class golf courses ... Maui and Aston gave us the vacation of a lifetime. Our only mistake was not booking for a longer stay ... wvl

The condo was awesome. We were able to utilize the kitchen and laundry and save additional monies. The pool area was exactly what we desired and staff was ready to help anytime. The outside gas grills were a bonus. Everything was clean and fresh.

The view from our room was spectacular. The help was very congenial and sweet. The only the negative we could think of is the kitchen was missing a few utensils. Overall we had a very nice stay.

Make no mistake about it - the ocean front view is to die for! The Lani (balcony) is awesome and private. Watching the sunset from the Lani was stunning and I have some magazine like pictures as a result. The first morning we were greeted with a rainbow in plain view right off the Lani. The islands of Lanai and Malakai are both equally in plain view and make the view even better. The one bedroom condo was clean and had a very nice floor plan. Hotel like service provided daily including new towels, soap, toiletries, etc. The service at the hotel was very good. The pool and jacuzzi hot tub are nice with the hot tub being more popular with guests than the pool. The pool was heated or just naturally warm - I loved swimming in it! There is no restaurant on-site which is a bigger bummer than I thought it would be but there do provide access to the next door neighbor's restaurant which supposedly was a short walk but we never made it there. Now a word about the beach/access - it stinks! Yes you can get to the beach easily but ... There is a massive coral reef on the hotel beach which makes swimming extremely unpleasant if not virtually impossible. Perhaps the snorkeling would be good out there but the surf was too strong for this novice snorkeler - I snorkeled at other beaches instead. As if the coral reef weren't bad enough - the actual width of the beach is minute - tiny. There is practically no dry sand to plop down on and lay out on which was also a huge bummer to us. You CAN walk about 200 yards in either direction and get slightly better beach access but that walk is farther than you think when you're lugging all your beach stuff around. I rented this condo for the ocean front views and assumed that all Maui beaches would be created equally - that was a massively bad assumption! Maui beaches are VERY different! If the beach matters to you try to get a condo around Whaler's Cove. Whaler's Cove has awesome resorts all co-mingled together with shopping and dining right on the beach. Whaler's Cove is a big destination and you will probably visit there and pay to park - maybe if you stay there you will have parking covered by the condo. If not Whaler's Cove then there are probably other condos with better beaches - you might end up with ocean view instead of ocean front but you will get better beach access. One more thing about beaches in Maui - visiting different beaches is kind of fun - especially if you love beaches like we do. If so then you will be driving to beaches anyway so maybe your condo doesn't need a great beach. If you do decide to pursue this path then expect your mainland road rage to appear when trying to park at these beaches because parking is limited on the beaches - actually parking is a huge problem everywhere we went. You are either paying to park or road raging looking for free parking. Parking stinks in Maui. All in all it was a decent hotel/condo experience - its my mistake for assuming that all beach access was the same. If swimming/laying on the beach matters to you - research beaches in Maui and stay on a highly rated beach! If ocean front is all you care about - stay at Mahana because I don't know how it gets any better than this...

All of these condos are oceanfront, with spectacular sunset views over the islands of Lanai & Molokai to the west. (So no worries about your "ocean view" being only from the bathroom window with 15 trees in the way!) Less than 60 seconds from the lobby, past the pool and a small grass lounging area, to the beach with its swimming & snorkeling areas. The condos are located on the north end of Kaanapali, near Napili-Honokowai. Local restaurants and groceries are available right across the street. Close to additional shopping & nightlife in the Kaanapali resort area & in Lahaina, but just far enough away from those areas that it doesn't feel noisy & jam-packed with tourists. The condos were clean, some have been renovated, and the staff was helpful & courteous. All the patios/lanais face the ocean and are private. The condo we stayed in had both air conditioning & ceiling fans, and a full kitchen.
