Location is all this place really has going for it. if you are just looking for a place to sleep for a night, this might be OK, if you want to relax in your room, enjoy the facilities and make the most of your Stay, go elsewhere. We are regular travellers to the Auckland CBD and have stayed in many of the Hotels there, and this is the first one we have been really dissapointed with. It looks nice at present as it is in refurb mode but this will date quicky. it is not a 4star hotel... 3 at most. no Aircon, 1 cup of coffee each. nonexistant water pressure (i gotten wetter walking around in the fog), incorrectly installed plumbing (hot and cold mixed up and no where to fill jug as it won't fit in the basin and takes 20 min to fill in the shower, but then you only get 2 coffee sachets anyway) tiny fridge especially if you are expecting to stay more than 1 day or need to chill more than a 6 pack. smelly lifts and Staff are either unhelpful or just incompetent, I'm not sure. we were looking forward to enjoying a series of movies on sky movies (Species 1,2 & 3), but the parental controls were on so the r18 species 2 was blocked. Staff either did not know how to fix it or didn't want to fix it. either way we called 3 times in 30 min to be given differing excuses and no follow up so we went to the cinema instead. check in is painful as they are probably the only Hotel in NZ that wants a copy of some Photo ID. rooms are poorly thought out. our had power points on the wall under my pillow.

it's not enough insulation between the rooms. Hotel Features noted for built at november 2012 but I think just renovation. One of the 2 elevators is no work and another is very old. not enough cleaning for bathroom. Avantage is best location.

There was a building site right opposite our room which was noisy in the morning - we would have appreciated being told about this. Other than that we enjoyed our stay and the staff were all very friendly and helpful.
