The hotel is ideally located at Bockmuhle and is considered as the land marked house of the family Friedrich Engels. The property has easy access to attractions such as the Heydt-museum, zoo and the adventure bath Bergische Sonne as well as a climbing centre, which is about 300 metres away from the hotel.

Whilst being a very interesting hotel with decor that might have been completed by a 4 year old finger painting class on some restricted substance, the basic fabric of the hotel was OK . What I would say is that the resturant was excellent with very high quality food on offer, at reasonable price the overall hotel is definately not a 4 star hotel.

A very funky hotel to stay at - we stayed in an artist's room which was a quirky change to the standard hotel experience. Restaurant onsite is good and reasonably priced and the staff were friendly and efficient. Parking nearby was easy. Make sure you make the most of the buffet breakfast the next morning!
