Mar del Plata Climate

In Argentina, the weather pattern is that of an oceanic climate whose summers are moderate. Typical summer temperatures of Mar del Plata range around 20°C and slightly higher. During the winter months of June through August, the temperatures are relatively cool at 8°C. However, some days can be slightly colder with the polar air masses coming in from Antarctica. Southeast winds bring in coastal showers in the winter.

Getting There & Around

Flights for the area arrive in Buenos Aires, where visitors will then take buses or trains to reach Mar Del Plata. Buses are much quicker, and the trip will take about six hours.

In the city, there are taxis and local buses to get travellers about. However, to ride the buses a bus card will need to be obtained from the office downtown. The city is also easily accessed by walking.
