Housed in a building dating back to the sixteen hundreds, the Arcadia Hotel was once the home of an aristocratic Venetian family. The tradition of a family home has continued to this day with the Spolaore family turning their home into a hotel for the last sixty years. Antique stucco's, beautiful ceilings, and fine marble floors make this a very traditional and unique place to stay close to the sights of the Rialto Bridge, Grand Canal, and the Bridge of Sighs.

Location
In the Cannaregio district of Venice, the Arcadia is in one of the liveliest areas of the city and has a true Venetian atmosphere. Near to the railway station and Piazzale Roma, the hotel is a short walk from the Jewish Ghetto and the Piazza San Marco.

Rooms
The hotel's guest rooms are decorated in a simple but elegant style with Murano glass lighting. All rooms feature comfortable beds with wooden furniture and a full bathroom.

Restaurant
Each morning guests can enjoy a continental breakfast in the hotel. Il Gazebo, which offers guests preferential rates, is also situated in the same building as the hotel.

General
The Arcadia Hotel is a welcoming place to stay in the centre of Venice with a unique homely feel. The staff are always on hand to help with places to visit, exhibitions, and events, and the hotel also offers a tour to a glass kiln on the island of Murano.

This hotel is very well located, not far from the station. Unfortunately no air conditioning but would stay here again.

A nice hotel - very friendly service. Main complaint is lack of a lift - we had to cart our cases upstairs - once we had done that, our experience was good. The address was confusing and we had difficulty finding the place - again, once we had found it, it was good.

An easy ten minute stroll from the station, five minutes to the nearest vaporetto, and located in a street bustling with cafes and fruit and other stands, this is a great place for budget travellers. The rooms are spacious by European standards, serviced daily and, although lacking air-conditioning, provided with effective, if somewhat noisy, pedestal fans. The desk is manned 24 hours a day and reception are cheerful, helpful and English speaking. Continental breakfast is served in an annexe to a beautiful old room, dominated by a magnificent chandelier, part of the original building. An enjoyable visit.

Perfect location. I have been in this hotel last year and came back this year because really appreciated it. Magnificent coffee just next to the door of the hotel as well a very good pizzeria. Definetly recommend. Just take a repelent for mosquitos as they are everywhere in Venice.

This place is too expensive for a 2 star hotel. However, it is clean and has a very big toilet/bathroom.

Fantastic location - between two bus -boat routes - bustling street market outside - old ghetto just behind, The room was a bit tatty but clean - comfy bed - and a lovely room with balcony overlooking the street for breakfast - with hot croissants. Excellent value for money - and Venice was fantastic - just like the pictures, Can't believe it took us so long to visit,

The location of this hotel was awesome - about 5 mins walk from the train station - the breakfast was also a good selection. However, the room was a little unclean with cobwebs etc in the corners.

The hotel was in a great location not far from the 'ghetto', which was authentic in character and way of life for modern Venetians. Hotel staff were extremely helpful, even helping me to wrap a gift I had brought along to surprise my other half with as it was her 40th. Would stay there again as it seems there are many hotels in Venice with very poor feedback.

Lovely old venetian hotel. Very close to Santa Lucia station and easy to find. Had a triple room (very big) and a double ( bit noisy cos of being at front of hotel). Was very happy with it for the price, was very close to St Marks square and rialto bridge. Would certainly stay there again.

The walls were paper thin and we could here people talking at the reception even though we stayed at the furthest room from the reception. There was no view from the room. The breakfast was very low in choice but adequate. It is the kind of hotel you end up with if you don't plan ahead.

We visited Venice during the Easter, so the prices were a little high at that time. The hotel was clean and comfortable. In addition the service was good as well as the breakfast.

Our room was small and had no TV (although it was advertised) and no fridge. The fittings were hanging off the walls in the bathroom and the sink leaked. Having said that, the beds were comfortable and the room clean. Breakfast was very basic - just fruit juice, cereal and some rolls which were placed on the buffet table still in the baker's bag! Location was good, although it's very noisy and we couldn't keep the window open at night because of it. Thus the room was hot and stuffy. There's a street market right outside and they set-up very early. Also the hotel has a restaurant below it and there was a great deal of noise in our room when they put down the shutters in the early hours after closing. For a cheap break I would recommend it - you get what you pay for.
