My wife and I enjoyed our stay at this Hotel with friendly staff and next to all the local shops which is much more less expensive than the larger shopping malls in Dubai. Although, one should visit these malls for the experience to see and shop at all the upmarket retail outlets there are and fine eateries. The restaurants at the hotel where we dined were also very good. It was nice to stay in a traditonal style hotel. Taxis are not expensive and in really hot weather one should use these for transport.

Good value hotel if you want to stay in the old quarter of Dubai, handy to airport. Staff very accommodating

Only negative comments are that the shower was only luke warm and smoking allowed in Sherlock Holmes Bar. Ramadam period can be inconvenient if non-muslim as food outlets during daylight hours are very difficult to find. Tourist hotels are the go. POSITIVES - fabulous location, a few minutes walk to the creek and boat taxis, textile souk and restuarants. A short trip by water taxi directly across the creek to the gold & spice souks. A jump-on, jump-off Big Bus stop right across the road. Good shopping in same street. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Service at buffet breakfast excellent. Best view rooms on old Fort Side.

Good location close to the Creek, the abras that ferry you across to the souks, and the Dubai Museum. Friendly staff, very good breakfast, and shuttle to airport.
