Apex Waterloo Place Hotel Edinburgh
4 out of 5

The hotel is located in Edinburgh new town, just outside the busiest area, i.e, Princes street. Front of the hotel is an old building while most of the rooms are in a new section in the backside. The old and new architecture have been combined very well (stylevise). Hotel restaurant has a small but interesting seasonal menu based on local ingredients (mostly meat, only one vegeterian option). Room service provided pretty good food as well. Service was nice, the young staff tried their best, which at times felt perhaps a bit too much.

The hotel was as I expected, clean and plush, If only the heating in our room was as warm as our welcome from the staff. Filled in a comments card and as yet had no feedback.

My partner and I go to Edinburgh often and after trying several 4-star hotels found this one and we love it. The location is superb, the rooms are modern and well-furnished, the spa is nice (even if the pool is chilly and the area around it very small). Highly recommended.

This hotel is hip! I loved the rooms and the style...plus it was close to everything. Short walk to oodles of shopping. Easy walk to the Royal Mile and EDI castle....Fantastic if you want to tour around. Modedn design with huge bathrooms...seperate tub and shower in my rooms. Would definately stay there again!

My second time at the Apex Waterloo was even better then the first time. Friendly reception staff, nice clean well decorated rooms with great bathrooms, very good breakfast and very nice sauna and exercise rooms. Location is perfect - in new town but a very short from the old town. Very near Waverley Bridge where the express bus (100) from the airport stops. Very near Calton park which is nice to visit. All around a good hotel at a fair price.

We stayed 3 nights at the Apex Waterloo while visiting friends in Edinburgh. The location is great just off Princes street, next to the train station and a few blocks from the Royal Mile. The room was larger than most in Europe and very comfortable. The restaurant and bar were nice with friendly staff. Would stay here again if we ever return to Edinburgh.

This is a great hotel in a very convenient part of Edinburgh. Minutes to a good shopping mall and the great shopping streets of Edinburgh. The rooms are modern and very clean. The only downside there is no parking on the hotel premises. You have to do about a 7 minute walk to a nearby parking lot.

Excellent location, very close to everything. Fantastic facilities gym, pool and steam room - great. Comfy big beds and not a peep of noise, so we slept very well, even over new years! The BIGGEST tv I have ever seen !

My three friends and i greatly enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Check-in was efficient and staff friendly, and so was the houskeeping staff. The location of the hotel can not be better for a city-centre weekend break. The room and bathroom was exceptionally clean. The only negative point to make is that we had a practice fire alarm, and the escape door which would have lead us to the outside of the hotel was locked. Even repeated phone calls from our accompayiong member of staff to security personel did not produce somebody with a key to enable us to escape a (possible) fire.
