When To Go
Antigua-St. John’s climate is tropical, so it’s a balmy 28°C (82°F) high and 23°C (73°F) low most of the year round, though it heats up to around 31°C (88°F) in the middle of the year. Late July sees the annual Antigua-St. John’s Carnival celebrations, so tourists tend to be thicker on the ground during this period.
Precipitation is fairly high for the warmer months of the year, so if you don’t like the idea of humidity, plan your holiday from February to May when the spring season drives the rains away. In September and October, Antigua-St. John’s is at higher risk of severe storms, so it’s best to avoid this period.

Getting There
Antigua-St. John’s Bird V. C. International Airport is located just 8 kilometres (5 miles) outside of St. John’s city centre, and hosts both domestic and international flights. Travel to the city can be a challenge as bus services are sparse, but most hotels offer shuttles to and from the airport. Taxis are available, and are the major mode of tourist transport in Antigua-St. John’s.
Rental cars are available but can be poorly maintained in some cases. A 60-day international driver’s license may be obtained from the rental car office prior to hiring. Walking from place to place is an option, as many points of interest are close to the major hotels.
