Air travellers will fly into the V.C. Bird International Airport, which is located right outside St. John’s, about 10 km (6.2 mi) from Antigua’s Jolly Beach. Jolly Beach is a popular spot on many cruise itineraries, if you wish to travel by sea. If you are staying in Antigua’s Jolly Beach, you will find that the bus is the cheapest local transportation. The fares are only a couple of dollars at most, but buses are also somewhat unpredictable. Alternatively, you can take a taxi or rent a car, but these are both more expensive options. A rental car can be around $100 USD (£60-63 GBP) per day. The island speed limit is only 18 km (11.2 mi) per hour, so expect leisurely travel between places.
