Location
Anker Hotel boasts of its prime location in the city centre. Travellers arriving at the Oslo Airport simply take the Airport Expresstrain to the Central Station in a 20-minute ride. The hotel is then only a 7-minute walk from the Oslo Central Station. A taxi stand as well as a bus stop is right outside the hotel.

First stay during work day service was very nice, room provided as promised. Second arrival on weekend created some problems. Instead promised extra bed small roll-away was introduced to much smaller room than at first time, while we paid the same rate for both stays. telephone in room did not work during second visit, staff at lobby said that it should be activated by 30 NOK deposit. Interestingly that this deposit was not needed five days ago at first visit when room telephone worked initially. After I placed deposit room telephone was not activated even after two extra works to lobby. Next morning with sorry they promised to credit deposit back to card, but later I found that they kept that charge. Chase was not able to reach them by phone after my complaint, but, thanks to Chase, bank waived this charge for me. Breakfast is good, parking fee near $35 is not included in price. I will recommend this hotel by price but with caution.

When we arrived on a wet night in Oslo the receptionist was very polite and advised us on a local restaurant. The room was very modern and clean with great heated flooring in the bathroom. Lovely view but in a slightly dodgy location. Choice of food/drinks at breakfast was a disappointment as was the lack of free hot drinks.

The hotel was oke. The beds were good, we had a good breakfast and the service was friendly. The location was as been told: about ten minutes walk from the central station which was good to do.

Room is clean. Everyone knows where Anker so it's easy getting there. If you need additional toiletries or hot water, ask at concierge and be pleasantly surprised. We got a big platter of teas/coffee sachets + kettle when we asked for hot water. If you stay on Wednesday, do join the Winter Walk tour (free!) starting at the hotel bar at 5pm - it was an interesting walk!

I stayed there for three nights. It was freezing outside but the heating was great inside the hotel. There's a bar in the hotel too. The location is great, it's a 2 minute walk to the train station and a short walk to the city centre shops and bars. If ever I go to Norway again I'll be staying here.
