And Andorra la Vella is actually very beautiful no matter what time of year you visit, and regardless of whether you’re hurtling down the side of the Pyrenees, scrambling over the rocky hills of El Pui or shopping tax-free at one of over 2,000 stores in the fuming, traffic-jammed city centre. With over 300 days of sunshine a year, even the wrong time in Andorra la Vella can still feel pretty right. And that coffee is pretty good, too!

- Esgkesia de Sant Esteve – A church built in the 11th century in the Romanesque style.
- Casa de la Val – The seat of Andorran Parliament from the 16th century that was built in 1580.
- House of the Valley – One of the few historical buildings still standing in the city.
- Santa Coloma Church – A church that contains a circular Lombard belfry.
- La Margineda Bridge – Located between Andorra la Vella and Saint Julia de Loria, this is one of the few 12th-century bridges still in use.

February’s Moraira Teulada sees a spectacular mock battle that even the most die-hard pacifist can enjoy – the only weapon used is flour.
There are a number of celebrations around Easter, with the preparations for Lent in particular giving rise to loads of feasts and festivals.
April sees the celebration of St George’s Day (Sant Jordi) and tradition calls for the giving of books and roses.
The summer solstice is celebrated with Festa del Poble,falling on St John’s Day in June.
December gets into the Christmas spirit with St Lucia Fair, where you’ll find plenty of materials for partaking in Christmassy crafts.
When To Go
- The winter months are chilly, but they’re also dry and bring fantastic snow conditions when the ski resorts open in early December.
- Snow turns to rain during autumn, Andorra’s wettest season.
- Summer is mild and sunny, averaging about 19ºC (66ºF).
Getting Around
- There are two main parts to Andorra, both of which are safe and easy to get around on foot.
- You’ll probably spend the majority of your time in the Old Town, and walking is the best way to explore all the restaurants, shops and sights.
- The local bus service will get you from one part of Andorra La Vella to the other.It’s quite efficient and super-cheap, but make sure you read the timetables properly.
