I liked the reviews I had read about the hotel, and was confident that I would have a good night's rest. The room I was assigned to was awful, and as soon as I got to it, I called the desk to request another one. The room was in shabby condition and so small that it felt like a closet. The bathroom was lovely, but I wasn't going to be sleeping in the bathroom. I was escorted to another room that was a touch better, but the bathroom reeked from mildew. The next room I was taken to was already occupied, as evidenced by very personal belongings out on the bed. Awkward, shall we say? The next try, the room was Spartan but acceptable. The bathroom was lovely, as was the first room's bathroom. It took me nearly an hour to get to a room that I hoped would work. The bed was very comfortable and I slept well, oddly with the help of the exceedingly noisy window a/c unit creating white noise. The tv was a very small old style tv and sometimes the remote worked and other times it did not. I requested an iron, and it took two requests to receive it. I used the iron on the mini sized ironing board, which was a challenge to maneuver since it had to be used on the bed as there is no desk or other furniture in the room to place it on. (The iron stained my blouse, which I didn't even try to report.) The staff tried to accommodate my requests in a pleasant way, but wow, what an exhausting experience. I will not stay there again.

Tiny room (#105) consisting of a twin bed and a cramped bathroom. Window unit AC didn't work until I pressed the reset button on the plug. Bathroom sink had hot and cold reversed on the faucet. Shower did not have a shower head and no water pressure (like somebody spitting on me from above). Water temp impossible to control - went from scalding hot to ice cold. Only good thing about this place is proximity to tourist sites. Thankfully I was only here for one night.

This is our second stay at the Amsterdam Court Hotel. The location is perfect - one block from Broadway and four blocks from Times Square. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The room was quite small, but comfortable. We will stay here again.

Couldn't have asked for a better location. Within walking distance to Time Square, Rockerfeller CTR, and Grand Central Station. The room was really small compared to Park South Hotel.

This was by far the smallest hotel room we have had in NY, but it was clean, the staff was friendly and it was a fairly good bargain. I would have appreciated knowing how tiny the room was before I booked.

The hotel was in the perfect location. Room was very small but it's all we needed. Had a bed and a rest room, what more do you need?

Great location, right in the middle of everything not too expensive. Room was very small but ended up really liking it felt less like a hotel and more like a small apartment. We really enjoyed it.

... and you want to be in the Theatre District and don't mind a tiny room with old-fashioned AC and TV, stained bathtub, bathroom with no window or vent or fan, poor sound-proofing, and a housekeeping staff that is very nice and very competent, but starts very early and noisily. It's an odd room in that the art on the walls and wallpaper and SOME of the decor look nice, but you get the feeling that half-way towards a renovation they ran out of money.

Everything was fine, just not memorable. The room had a funny smell that did not go away and it was as small as a closet which was ok as we spent the least amount of time there, but a little bigger space would have been nice. If I had gone with my husband the room would have been far too small. The location however was awesome, walking distance to everything. Staff were great too.

Absolutely great location. Our firs visit to the city and we couldn't have asked for a better location at such a reasonable price. Traveled with a 1-year old and was provided a crib for the room. Staff was friendly and vey helpful.

- Frühstücksbuffet (Toast, Kaffee, Saft, Früchte, Gebäck) sehr gut - sehr kleines Zimmer, wenn auch allein reisend - dünne Wände, Gäste im Gang hörte man sehr gut - Lüftung/Heizung permanent gelaufen - Kakerlake im Badezimmer - Reinigung lässt zu Wünschen übrig - sehr lange Wartezeiten beim Lift - Personal nicht sehr freundlich - Preis- / Leistungsverhältnis stimmt nicht

The hotel staff were nice and and tried to assist. Our first room was very warm and the air conditioner was not working. The unit are very old and in need of replacement. After we called the deck they gave us a second room were the unit was working much better. The rooms are very small with little confort. A bed and bathroom. No place to sit or put your baggage or move around. The bed was like sleeping on a board. Room was clean and location is great for folks going to shows and sieghtseeing.

My daughter and I had just landed in New York from a 32 day trip starting in California , Ireland and London. We were looking forward to 7 more days in this great hotel and it's location. After all the hotels we stayed in on our journey we never thought we'd be so disappointed. Upon our arrival at the hotel it was under construction something that was never mentioned on line. Not only was it under construction but, it had been for the past 4 months. The hotel had one restaurant and one bar in the lobby not owned by the hotel. The bar was banging until 3 in the morning and the construction started at 7am, The hotel had one working elevator and the wait was pretty long so we used the stairs during our stay. The room was filthy, the bed was practically sitting flush with the floor. The shower head wasn't completely connected to the wall. The water shaving shower head blew so much air at you that the shower curtain flew around like it was in a wind storm. The phone in the room didn't ring down to the front desk. The front desk people weren't very helpful kind of sarcastic and short. I made arrangement for a car to take us to the airport for our departing flight 2 days before we left and they had the information wrong. They had the car come a day early and told us we we're no shows. hahaha. The location of this hotel was great but, I'll NEVER stay there again. I paid a lot of money for this hotel and was very disappointed. Please don't get me wrong I'm a humble girl from Texas who was finally able to take the trip of a life time and I picked a bad hotel for the last leg of my journey. Please spare yourself and keep looking.

Lage des Hotels war spitze. Direkt am Time Square. Doch das Zimmer hat zu wünschen übrig gelassen. Klima hat nicht richtig funktioniert. Bett war eine Katastrophe. Dafür war das ganze Personal sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.

The hotel is perfectly situated for Theatres, restaurants, Central Park and sightseing tours. I would definitely stay there again. There is no mini-bar or tea/coffee making facility in the room, but there is no shortage of bars and restaurants in the area. The room was a good size by New York standards.

Very good hotel with friendly staff and wonderful location (easy reach of Times Square). Not the biggest rooms, but clean and surprisingly quiet for New York (plus, you dont need a large room if you are spending your time sightseeing?). Best hotel I have stayed in New York
