Amora Hotel Jamison Sydney
4 out of 5

Was very impressed from the word go! Courteous staff greeted me with a smile and assisted with checkin 4 hours early! The room was quite nice, overlooking the city (as I opted for a corner room). Every time I went out staff were more than happy to give me an umbrella, and take it off my hands when I returned. As it was quite bad weather whilst I was in Sydney, it was nice to have a welcoming room to relax in during the stay. Would defiantly recommend it to friends, and will consider it for future trips to Sydney CBD.

Positives = Great location, comfy bed & pillows, very clean, free wi-fi, staff were friendly & helpful. Negatives; TV location awkward to the side in cupboard, room key/ entry cards need to make easier to use i.e. this side up & in ( for us dummies) shower head prob rate it 3.5star / car parking cost bit heavy at $40/nite $50 if parked for you. In summary would stay again but wouldn't pay over $250/ nite for twin standard rm incl parking on weekend rate. :-)

Staff were frendley and swift check inn Hotel is in a great location between Darling harbour and Circular quey and The Rocks Beds and pillows were comfortable and clean. Only let down was the stained carpets( need replacing ) and minor cleaning Will stay there again and recommond this hotel.

Hotel in great location. When we arrived and checked into our room we were very disappointed, very dated and small, air conditioning not working, extremely hot. Complained to staff, were shown another room, no better. Were told to come back in half hour and we would be shown another. We attempted to find another hotel but had already paid for 3 nights so were not sure if we would receive a refund. Eventually upgraded to another room which had small sitting room. As I was travelling with my son they bought in a dated fold away bed. The carpet was extremely marked, couch had stains on it, bathroom very nice. This hotel is in desperate need of a revamp. Would not stay here again. Definitely not 5 star.

A large hotel but rather lacking in character. Rooms were OK. Disappointing.

We have stayed at this hotel three times. It is a pleasant and comfortable hotel which is within walking distance of The Rocks, the harbor and the city. There are plenty of amenities nearby. We enjoy staying here.

This was the first time which I have stayed at the Amora Hotel and I must admit I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The only negative was I dined at the Charr Restaurant and thought it was alright but probably would not dine in the restaurant again.

Discrete hotel in a great location, midway between the Rocks and the harbour, and the Queen Victoria Building/Westfield shopping mecca. Great room service food, lovely big bath and the most comfy beds ever. We only stayed overnight but it was a genuine refresher - and we'll certainly do it again. Only negative - the pool was out of order in the late afternoon and even at 10pm there were three little kiddies (I mean 6 year and under) racing around and jumping in and out. But that's probably a parental issue...

Have stayed there a number of times. Always a good place to stay. Staff are friendly, rooms are nice. The TV however is a bit high up to be watched from the bed as it is in the wardrobe to the side of the bed. Very easy walk to the Rocks area which we love to dine at.

Excellent place to stay. We have stayed there several times over the last couple of years and it is always a pleasure to go back. Great location, facilities, value for money and the staff are outstanding! I've never had so many staff open the front door for me in any hotel I've stayed in :-) Highly recommend staying at the Amora

I was a bit nervous about booking the hotel after reading some of the internet reviews but went ahead anyway. The hotel was in the right location for us for a weekend in Sydney near all the Sydney attractions, transport, harbour etc. The check-in was quick and efficient with polite reception staff. Bathroom was very good with a huge shower and deep bath and a good standard of decor. The room whilst not stunning was perfectly fine and very clean although it could probably do with some refurbishment with some new soft furnishings (bedspreads, cushions etc.) as the current ones are a bit dull looking. The TV set up needs to be improved as it is in an awkward viewing position and is not flat screen. We didn't try any of the restaurant/bar services so cannot comment on those. The room was very quiet even though we were near the lifts so either the walls are well insulated or we did not have any noisy neighbours! We had a very pleasant stay and would stay here again without hesitation.
