The room was too small! There was barely any room to walk on because there was no space. There was only one mirror in the entire room. The room was noisy; there was a tapping sound about every 15 seconds and did not stop during the night. The shower knob was confusing; when it was turned to the left cold water would come out, when the knob was turned to the right hot water came out, and there was no in between; you either got hot water or cold water. The hotel does not have parking so you have to find parking on the streets. After I checked out I sat on the lobby and noticed the concierge was nicer to the other guest; he asked if they would like to stay at the hotel again so that he can give them a discount and he offered them bottled water.

When I booked this hotel, I read the reviews and thought it would be a good bet while on a business trip in San Diego with a colleague. We didn't need much, just a safe place to keep our stuff and rest our heads at night, a clean shower, and a convenient location. We were absolutely stunned to find that this place is GROSSLY misrepresented online. The rooms smelled of cigarettes, the carpets and beds were old and suspect, the windows were aluminum sliders and had no sound proofing (love that there's an airport near by), the characters in the lobby were frightening - couples hooking up, druggies, etc. The only redeeming quality was the manager who helped us refund our money. If you want a place to hook up, this is your hotel. If you are a serious traveler with standards, look elsewhere.

I was a little apprehensive based on the mixed reviews, but was pleasantly surprised when I got there. The room was very nice, great decor, clean, and comfortable. The staff was great. I have zero complaints about this place. I would most definitely choose them again.

This hotel was very quaint. The room was more like a mini suite. Everything was upgraded in the room. Aside from the no parking and the low flying plane noise(but when you close the window, you can barley hear them), we would for sure stay with them again. They are located next to everything and was a very fair price for the night.

Now I know booking on line gets u the worst rooms! All I wanted was a nice view and what I got was a view of the elevator door! Smell noise and all!!

This is a perfect hotel for you if you love: - sound of jets flying 100ft above the hotel - loud guests - non-working TV in your room - AC that blows directly into your heads - no free parking

This is a nice clean hotel in a great location with good pricing. The rooms are definitely on the very small end, but if you are looking just for a place to sleep at night, the great location and cleanliness more than makes up for this. It's located a few blocks north of the Gaslamp district and a few blocks south of Balboa park and all of the tourist attractions are within a 15 minute drive.

The location was fabulous, we didn't need ever travel more than 10 miles for any of the sightseeing that we did including Sea World, the Zoo, and the bar scene at night was within walking distance. The only downfall of the hotel is that there isn't any parking offered it is all find your own street parking or pay parking off location. The rooms are also small but good if you don't plan on spending a lot of time indoors

Was in SD for a weekend get-away, the hotel was a little further than I expected, walking distance, to gas-lamp. Although the price for the stay was fair. The rooms were clean, and the hotel quite, good for sleeping in.

The room was too small, they did not have their own parking structure. You would have to find parking on the street without meters in order to park for free. But the breakfast was good and fulfilling!

Walking distance to Balboa Park and downtown. Rooms are a little small but if you're only getting a room have a place to comfortably come home to to sleep with super friendly staff, this place is great.

The hotel is great value for the price. The room was quite small but you get what you pay for. The hotel is about 8 or 9 blocks from the Gas Lamp Quarter. We walked it 2 or 3 times and didn't feel it was too far. The hotel is also only 2 blocks away from Balboa Park which is an excellent day out. All in all for someone who doesn't want to pay the very high prices that the bigger hotels charge this is an excellent option
