Ambassador Hotel New Orleans

Though the location is nice, the hotel felt run down. My room did not have an external window, and there was barely enough room to unpack. The shower had really crummy water pressure, which is a pet peeve of mine, and the walls were very thin. I could hear everything going on in the hall and the rooms around me. Having said that, it was pretty cheap and the location was good. IF you don't plan on spending much time in the room at all, it's acceptable. The free internet was nice, though I feel like you end up paying for it anyway since virtually every hotel in downtown New Orleans charges you a $10 a night resort fee on top of the advertised rate.

Enjoyed my stay. Interesting place, a little off the beaten path but very good location. Nice sports bar off the lobby. Very good for the price. I'll probably stay there again

Great location! About 3 blocks to everything! Our room was very small and had carpet. Bed was hard and had no window view in our room, but overall experience was great! We would return to this hotel for this price!

We were attending a conference in New Orleans, and we had booked rooms at one of the conference hotels. At the last minute, we needed a pet friendly hotel. We found this hotel in fact it showed up first on the list. First the hotel is old, everything squeaks especially our bed. The floors are not level, the elevator sounds like it will break at any minute, and you can hear EVERYTHING..After two days of our stay, we were out with our pets and we were harassed as we came back to the hotel by the 'manager' who said the hotel was not pet friendly. I explained that we checked in no problem and it states in the directory that pets are allowed. He said he would find out who checked us in and that the policy had changed and they don't allow pets. I went to our room and called the corporate office to see if we needed to leave and complained about the rude 'manager'. Turns out he was the assistant and the actual manager knew we checked in and 'didn't have a problem' with our dogs. They don't know if they take pets or not. We couldn't wait to leave. Will never stay there again and would NOT recommend it.

Just around the corner from the main streets and near some stunning restaurants, this is a fun hotel. BUT the beds are firm. Not slightly soft...firm. Nice small breakfast in the morning.

The hotel is clean and has a good bar and restruant in the lobby and the rooms and hotel is clean and well maintained. Daily Fee for internet and other amenities not included in price but still a great value for a traveler

A very nice hotel. Close enough to walk to the French Quarter (but you'll probably want to take a cab back). The continental breakfast left a lot to be desired, but there are plenty of other options nearby.

Overall it was a good experience. Easy booking through Orbitz. Was some confusion with the hotel staff regarding the length of stay (1 day or 2) but was easily resolved. Room was nice (didn't spend much time there) and located close to the French Quarter. Parking was $32 w/valet and they charge $9 for amenities (computer room/business center, etc) that I wasn't expecting but with the low price of the room was still a bargain. Staff was friendly and helpful, I had no issues with the stay and would recommend for future bookings...thanks...Tom...

Wireless access was so bad at my room (the Lafaiette area of the hotel). Every time I connect to the wireless, I had to go down to the lobby area.

Nothing Special about this place. For the price it was in a great location, walk to convention center, riverwalk, and FQ. Resturant attached had average food and was a decent value. The only thing that was wierd is that many of the rooms have no windows. Strange feeling inside....but OK if your only there to sleep.

My daughter was in a wedding in New orleans & I traveled with her. We weren't able to check-in until 4:00 pm. The time kept changing for check-in. Then, after 4:00pm when we did check-in, we were given the wrong room, not 2 beds. Had to bring all of our luggage back down to receive the correct room. Then, had to wait again. The room we received smelled like smoke & my daughter & I do not smoke. The wedding started @ 5:30pm, so we weren't able to receive another room, because had to rush to get dress & get to the wedding. So, my daughter and I were inconvenient in the above way.

Hotel is fairly close to both the Convention center and Bourbon Street (both approximately 6 blocks). Nothing really great other than that. The rooms are clean, however the furniture is old. The bed is not very comfortable either. May be a good hotel choice for budget travelers.

Great location. Lots to do near by within easy walking distance. Reception staff did not seem happy to do their job. Had to ask about every amenity. Did not seem happy to give information willingly. Rooms smelt damp and mouldy. Asked to change room. Never heard from anyone for the three nights that we were there. Only window in room looked into the hallway of the hotel. The room's front door had blinds on it. The door was not typical solid door, so hallway light comes into room making the room never dark.

The rooms were beautiful...the bathrooms were a little dated, but overall, very nice. The location was perfect...we were just able to park our car in the lot across the street and walk everywhere. It was close to Bourbon Street and the Riverwalk. All in all it was a great hotel!
