Ambassador Hotel Bangkok
2 out of 5

The rooms are a bit shabby with chipped brown painted furniture. The numbers in the elevators are so old that some are unreadable. Worst feature is that rooms do not have WiFi. It is available in Lobby and restaurant only. The basement night club / Disco has very suspect emergency fire egress and one should worry about being trapped inside. Hotel is very popular with Indian people.

The hotel was very large and beautiful. The location was amazing with everything within an easy walking distance. Pubs, shopping, banks, food, pharmacy etc.

BBC World news about the best on offer of the TV channels. Room very good size, plenty of room. Plenty on offer for breakfast but not much for westerners. Best to go outside. Fire alarm was activated once, had to walk down 19 floors, staff did not know what to do, clearly they do not have fire drills, had to enquire ourselves if there was a fire. Checked out a day early as did not feel safe if there was a real fire.

Great location close to sky train, food stalls and entertainment. Upgrade on two occasions. Tower rooms are refurbished, the main wing rooms are very tired but clean. Late checkout 3.00pm was authorized at check-in however there is an unauthorized payment on my credit card pending from the hotel. If it goes through my bank will be investigating.

we were booked in standerd double room, but upgraded to delux room for 1000 bht per night, it was well worth it, a very nice room on 24th floor, good location for shopping, and sky train, very lively area at night with a lot going on.

It is advisable to stay in the Tower Wing of the hotel, which is nicely done, spacious and neat. The hotel is excellently located, right in the center of all attractions and connected well through the LRT.

Stayed only one night. The hotel is good located and close to Sukhumvit's nightlife. However, couldn't really enjoy as there was some unexpected maintenance work starting 7am in the morning. Normally I would say the price for the standard room is quite ok but if you can't sleep because of maintenance work, the hotel should inform and the price should be more attractive as well! However, if you want to get a cheap room within 5min walking distance from the inhouse Climax club, go for it!

We have been staying at this hotel for the last 7 years, twice yearly... We always book a room on the the Privilege floors of the Tower Wing. We found a noisy exhaust system in the bathroom this time but got it fixed... We find the location so convenient... Breakfast is good.... What more can one ask for?

Good location. Rooms very noisy - you can hear through the walls and doors. A bit of a seedy area. No view from rooms.

The Ambassador Hotel was ideal for us as first-time visitors to Bangkok in that it was ideally placed near to the Sky Train and near to many restaurants in a reasonable area of the city with the cost being very cheap compared with equivalent hotels in other parts of the world.

Rooms have been revovated. It is an improvement, but if you don't mind walking a bit, there are nicer and cheaper hotels nearby.

Average hotel, reasonable value for money. Well situated with easy access to the Skytrain, taxis and airport road. Excellent breakfast but not included and a bit pricey by Thai standards.

Recently undergone a much needed refurbishment. Ideally located in busy part of Bangkok - easy access to skytrain (about 3 min walk) which then gets you around the city. Choice of food and shops within hotel is very good - you must try the all you can eatcDim Sum in the chinese restaurant. Pool is adequate and there is a very good bird garden up on the terrace above.
