Amaya Lake Resort Dambulla Guest Reviews
Very nice hotel, but I would advise customers not to opt for the eco-village, as it is a long walk from the main hotel. But it was a fun experience staying in a mud-hut with tatched roof.

Very limited selection of western food at dinner time. Breakfast barely average. Super location, excellent rooms and pleasant staff. Lovely open sided dining room. Very handy for Dambullah and Sigiriya.

We would like to point out the excellent eastern cuisine.

The main hotel building housing reception, the bar and restaurant is open on all sides so you can have a drink and look out across the pool to the lake and surrounding jungle. Rooms are in chalets dotted around grounds. Plenty of wildlife to spot including monkeys, lizards and squirrels. The hotel organises sunrise and sunset birdwatching tours. One thing to bear in mind is that the Culture Club is several miles from Dembulla and there are no taxis around so you need your own transport. The hotel can arrange tours to sites in the area but they''re not cheap. Buffet meals offer a substantial, good quality choice. A good place for families. Surounding countryside is spectacular.
