Location
Amara Sanctuary Resort is nestled in a 3.8-hectare secluded tropical garden in the island resort of Sentosa. Vacationers can browse the stores at VivoCity before stopping by Merlion and Harbour Front.

All 140 boutique rooms, villas and suites are elegantly designed with contemporary, Colonial or Asian-inspired architecture and equipped with satellite TV, IP phone, Internet access and mini bar. Villas come with private pool.

Diners at Amara Sanctuary Resort savour delectable Singaporean favourites at Shutters and authentic Thai cuisines at Thanying Restaurant on site. Guests unwind with wine and cocktails at Tier Bar.

The location was great, close to transport and site seeing places. the rooms themselves were older style (i wouldnt classify this as 5 star!) and make sure you state preference for smoking or non-smoking. We didnt realise when we booked, and ended up in a room that stunk of cigarettes (we are not smokers) so this was a little unpleasant. The hotel has a few restaurants which are top notch and the staff were extremely helpful.

Lots of item missing in the room, no bathroom robe, slipper , when call housekeeping for the item, they mentioned that is was not provided in the room, is on request only.. Found a bag of leftover rotten fruit on the fridge, look like housekeeping didnt do the job well. And also, I was been woke up at 9.15am by the door bell, the housekeeper was doing checking of the mini bar ... mini bar check at this hour?

Excellent hotel - however the hotel needs to have better information as to package entitlements i.e. breakfast etc

We have stayed in Singapore many times and decided to try a 'new' area. Our room at Amara was refurbished and neat/tidy. The included breakfast was fine. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel is very convenient for the mix of free public transport on Sentosa...plus a reasonable taxi fare to the city. The pools are relaxing and enjoyable. The 4th floor infinity pool is supposed to be adults only, this is well signed but definitely never inforced, so if you wanted to relax in peace this was sometimes challenging. All in all a good stay at a relaxing enjoyable 'base' for enjoying all that Sentosa has to offer. A hint: try 'Bails' at Resort Worlds for Michelin star out of this world chinese dumplings!

The swimming pool is a bit too small. Other than that everything is good at its pricing.
