Staff was rude at night shift ok in day shift bugs in the rooms my kids and wife were scared ask the staff they said are doing pest controll every day.

we were booked into a room which overlooked the ajoining function room, which was not acceptable, as no sky or privace. However there was no problem in changing rooms on request. We were given a room at the front of the hotel which was perfect.

Beware booking a taxi through reception - we were badly ripped off by the staff there who refused to provide a receipt. Also, if the pool is important to you - check before making the reservation that it is currently in service. It seems to often be empty of water for 'maintenance'.

Stayed two nights at the Hotel Amar in Agra in October 2008 with my husband. Got a very good deal with [website] and the hotel rated ok on [other website]. The first room we were shown to was on the ground floor and although it had a window, it looked directly into the conference room next door, and hence was covered in sacking! I asked at reception to be moved to a room on a higher floor and they found us one on the first floor (ie, one above ground floor) overlooking the busy street but the traffic noise wasn't overly bad. It took 10 minutes for the cleaners (all male!) to prepare the room for us and we settled in. The room was basic but reasonably spacious, and clean. Staff were all very friendly. Pool was lovely. Restaurant was excellent! We ordered from the a la carte menu and everything we had was delicious. Lots of attentive staff and the prices very reasonable. We had a driver both days and the hotel is only 10-15 mins from the Taj.
