Altstadthotel Kasererbraeu Salzburg
4 out of 5

Fantastic location at the quiet end of the Old Town. All necessities are within walking distance. Small supermarket 15 meters. A choice of about ten cafes and restaurants within 200 meters as well as a few bars. As well as many small galleries(art dealers nearby) . Similarly Mozart Square was about 200 meters away with a small outdoor bar, and ice rink in operation. The busy part of the Old Town is about 50 meters on from Mozart Square, with large numbers of shoppers, but also with many interesting shops as well as many souvenirs shops. . The hotel itself was very good. I utilised the steam room and sauna. They have a cinema (German language only) on site was well as an Italian restaurant. Also a small kiosk/bar was located at reception, no doubt to service the cinema, but also useful for snacks etc. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. One staff member even assisted with some translations for me. I speak basic German, so it was good to get some pointers and improve my vocabulary. . The room was adequate, (standard double) very comfortable and good size. Bathroom was very good, both in size and inclusions such as heated towel racks. Tea and coffee would have been an improvement. But other than that hard to fault.

Delightful hotel which was once a theatre with history. Charming enviornment within easy walking to everything in the old city and not much further to most other attractions. Staff were all friendly and helpful.

This hotel is not easy to find and once we did find it we were told they had overbooked and reservations had been made for us at a hotel across town. The reason we booked this hotel was to be in the "old town" part of the city. Since we have had these reservations for months I was doubley ticked to be "homeless". The hotel where we actually stayed (Best Western) was nice - large updated room and a super breakfast. Resturant was very good, also.

Location was excellent! Hannah's level and style of service at reception was excellent! We elected to book a superior/deluxe double. However, we didn't need the extra bed and could have saved money.

Rooms are okay, refreshed more than renovated. Breakfast was good. Not easy to reach this hotel with your car but parking available there, which is a plus! Price paid was in the high side for the value, guess that is because of prime location ...

The hotel and the rooms are small. The beds are too hard to sleep in. The breakfast was very poor. Although it has a central location it is not pricwhorty. It´s more like a 2 star hotel.

We had a wonderful short stay in Salzburg. The hotel was clean, comfortable and very pretty. The reception and lower floors were decorated for the season and each guest was given a small bag of nuts and sweets. The location was excellent, walking distance to the old part of town. I am looking forward to going back and will use this hotel again.

The hotel is located in a prime location, literally 5-10 minutes walk from all main attraction on its side of the river. It does take about 20 minutes to walk to Schloss Mirabell on the other side of the river. The staff is friendly and efficient. The breakfast has one of the best selections we had on this trip. The rooms are large and comfortable. The restaurant on premises is okay, but there are many good restaurants within easy walking distance. (Just like mostly everything in historic part Salzburg is within walking distance.) The hotel is by no means cheap, but it is worth every cent for location, convenience, and service.

A great choice if you are looking for a central hotel with a 3* comfort rating - the service was superb and overall I would definitely stay there again.

The location of the hotel is superb for looking around Salzburg - right in the middle of the old town and only a few steps from the castle. Hotel staff were extremely friendly / helpful and the breakfast was really good by 'European standards'. The only negative was that our room was slightly small and that the hotel didnt claim to have any double duvets.... All very minor points as we were only using the hotel as a base. Would definately stay there again in the future.

The bathroom was full of hair from previous clients. The shower door never closed properly, so we ended up with a lot of water on the floor. It was mention that we will have parking, but because we arrived late at night, all the parking vouchers were given, so we ended up looking for parking in pouring rain, close to midnight. Breakfast room was big enough to accommodate all the clients, but the food was in one small corner and we waited in line for our turn, looking at some leftovers and empty plates. For the price we paid we were very unimpressed with the hotel.
