Location
The Alte Hotel is 31.4 km from the Faro Airport, in Faro, Portugal. In nearby Alte guests can investigate one of the last few remaining examples of Manueline architecture featured in the doorway of the Church of Nossa Senhora da Conceicao. The village of Messines is about a 10 minute drive from Alte. The Messines Church originates from the 16th century.

This is a quiet hotel in the hills above the Algarve - Alte is the real Algave, whitewashed houses, beautiful weather and rugged landscape. The hotel is small but the staff are excellent and very helpful. We could not have wished for a better place to stay for a few days in the sun! The homecooked Algave food is excellent and I loved the steak/beans Algave style! This hotel is a beautiful oasis in the Algave hills!

A very peaceful retreat from the hurly-burly of the coast, which is only 25 minutes away. All areas were clean and tidy and the staff were very friendly, helpful and spoke excellent English. As it was very hot during our visit the in-room air conditioning was very welcome, and ensured that a good night's sleep was possible. The buffet breakfast was a good start to each day. We would not hesitate to stay there again.

We have just returned from a holiday in the Algarve . We had visited the town of Alte before with great delight with views and peacefulness beyond compare to then discover the Alte Hotel with its frendly and helpful staff who where professional and faultless and a great asset to the Hotel. I would recommend the Alte Hotel without any hesitation. Thank you for a wonderful stay
