Accommodation in Lausanne is possibly some of the most expensive in Switzerland. The hotel is difficult to find as it is on a pedestrian mall, across the road from the station, that only takes traffic part of the way. Entrance to the car park was via a side street whose entrance was no where near the hotel which made it especially difficult to find. Parking is expensive (up to 2 Swiss Francs per 50 min) and there is no discount for hotel guests despite the car park being part of the hotel building and being labelled with the hotel’s name. Even through we payed almost AUD$200 for a double room everything else was extra including cable TV channels and the expensive Wireless Internet access. The rooms, although too warm, are beautiful overlooking the central courtyard. We did not have any problems at breakfast although I could see how there could be confusion. Our tip would be to stay at the sister Agora hotel on the south side of the station, which is cheaper and has free parking.

The hotel is convenient because is just 120 meters from the train station, however, it is a nice climb to reach it. The bathroom and the bedroom are only separated by a modern but glassy wall... not much privacy We found ants going around from the bathroom to the bed! Breakfast is great, provided you pay the full price.
