The Alloggi Agli Artisti Hotel is in a strategic position from which you can visit the most important tourist attractions of Venice.

Location
Located in a quiet and calm area, the Alloggi Agli Artisti Hotel is only 150 metres from the main central train station (Santa Lucia) and close to the Grand Canal. It is very easy to reach and not too far from the most popular tourist attractions in the city, such as Rialto Bridge or San Marco Square which are respectfully 10 and 20 minutes away by boat.

Rooms
The 34 rooms are simple but very welcoming. The walls are painted yellow, the frames of the beds are made of dark iron and the fabrics used are colourful and tasteful to create a very warm atmosphere. Every room is dedicated to a different painter whose masterpiece is displayed in the room. Guest can choose between rooms with bathroom and rooms with shared bathroom on the floor.

Restaurant
Guests can begin their day with a delicious buffet breakfast served in the warm and pleasant atmosphere of the breakfast room. Guests can also take advantage of the bar service.

General
The area around the station and towards the Jewish Ghetto is less touristy, where guests can find the Venetians with their typical markets and shops.

Alloggi Agli Artisti Hotel Venice
4 out of 5

Had a wonderful 3 days (4nights) in Venice, at this hotel. Room was clean and comfortable, if not a little small (expected of Venice though). Had a shared bathroom, which was not a problem, plenty of very clean well maintained showers. Breakfast was OK, nothing special but did the job nicely. Only warning is the location, the hotel is situated on the opposite side to st.Marks and pretty much everything else, so be prepared to walk / pay for the boat. All in all, a very good value for money hotel in a beautiful city .

The single room is so tinny that you can barely call it a room! And of course no toilet and shower in the room! No internet! The safe in the room does not have a key!

Very nice hotel steps away from train and close to airport buses.. Keep in mind the wireless Internet is not free (and quite expensive).. Save your money and go to a restaurant or cafe with free Internet.

This hotel, part of which at the moment is being renovated is really nicely situated within a few yards from the rail station just at the foot of the bridge by the railway. Probably more expensive in season, but amazingly cheap for a hotel on Venice island. A bit cool inside, but then the weather outside was freezing, must be great in summer. Good breakfast included in the price.

We had shared bathroom-there are 2- 1 large, 1 small and never had to wait for it, for the price and excellent location this is a great place to stay. The room was larger than expected. Hotel was hard to find- its on ur left down a tiny alley just after the train station but easy access to everything as its on the actual island.

The hotel is well located very close to the train station, Grand Canal vaparetto stop and Piazza Roma. There is no lift so if your room's on the upper floors be prepared to carry your luggage. The breakfasts are good with a choice of pastries, cereals, juices and tea and coffee. The rooms have air conditioning, a TV and wash basin but can bit a little small. There were 3 communal bathrooms that varied in size. In general the hotel is quite though one night (Monday) there was a lot of noise from the street below with locals "enjoying" themselves until 1am.

Room very small and very basic. Seperate bathroom incredibly small. No lift. Breakfast basic. Good location for arrival by train and nearby waterbus access to Grand Canal. Strictly for a short stay where all you want is somewhere to sleep.

Great location five minutes from the train station in a quiet side street. As our room was on the fourth (fifth) floor, we felt the absence of a lift when we dragged our suitcases up the stairs. They also asked for a deposit for the remote control! Other than that, it was clean and offered a decent breakfast. A good choice in an expensive city!

The only real drawback to this hotel is the lack of a lift - but our 4th floor room was spacious and had a wonderful view

Nice hotel close to the main train station. No elevator but nice and friendly front counter staff. Breakfast was OK but the serving staff was not very friendly and not enough tables during peek time.

The room was small but not too small as we found in other countries. The service was excellent and the staff were very accomodating which made up for any negatives there may have been relating to the size of the room or the age of the hotel. I would definitely recommend this hotel especially if you want to be in the "heart" of Venice!!

No map and the address was incomplete - shown as Calle Priuli which is in the middle of Venice - getting us lost until a local pointed us back. Full Street name is Calle Priuli Cavalletti 99a/b. Location was brilliant though, next to station (no noise!) and on edge of best shopping area. Staff very friendly and helpful.

The hotel was great and very good value for money for venice. We had a balcony which was good to sit out at night. The hotel is very close to the railway station and parking facilities. Many restaurants near by. The rialto bridge and the square is a 8 to 10 minute walk but that is where all the exitement starts because you go up narrow lanes many bridges and pass many shops you get a real feel of venice walking thru all the lane ways. Breakfast was really nice but a bit small we had to wait 5 minutes for a table but we didnt mind. We would definatly stay there again. The accomodation rooms were very big and the staff helpfull

I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights, it was very close to the shops, waterbuses, station etc and offered a satisfactory stay, my room was clean and the beds/bathroom was cleaned/tidied everyday. The breakfast was only basic, bread, cereal, coffee, juice but fresh, the only downfall was the boggey smell in the breakfast room while eating and that you couldnt use your own hair dryer due to it cutting off the electrics (hairdryer supplied on the wall in the bathroom) I would reccommend staying here, the cafe's/restaurant around this location were also very good (I suggest asking for the drinks menu before ordering anywhere as prices for drinks can vary and be very expensive approx £5 for a pint of larger in some cafes), other than that a very lovely weekend.

The staff at the front desk and in the breakfast room speak enough English. All the staff members were friendly. There were a lot of steps to carry luggage up, but it's very easy to get to the train station - a 5 minute walk. It was quiet at night, but be on the look out for mosquitoes. Since Venice can be confusing, it's nice to be able to get back to your hotel by following the signs for the train station - per ferrovia. There are plenty of restaurants and shops close by, as well as an internet use shop.
