Allegro Cozumel Resort - All Inclusive

We've been exclusive Iberostar customers and the Allegro was definitely a step down in hotel quality. Mind you for a dive vacation it was more than adequate but for the non-divers and for the post dive nightly decompression...left a lot to be desired. Only 1 bartender on duty at the only 2 bars with long lines and they could care less, usually talking to their helpers while the customers waited. Food was ordinary although the omelet cook in the AM was fantastic. The dive staff was EXCELLENT!!! Had a great time with those folks!!!

We have been to Cozumel several times, but never stayed in an all-inclusive. The hotel staff was outstanding. They were personable, remembering our names and drink orders. They worked hard to make our stay enjoyable. Tipping is always appreciated so don't be afraid to do so. The adjoining rooms were clean and perfect for travel with a family. One king room and the other had 2 doubles. (This can be requested in advance via email) We enjoyed our towel 'sculptures' every day. The food was a variety of different choices with theme nights every evening on the buffet. We were pleasantly surprised. We ate at the reservation only Mexican restaurant twice, (make sure to make your reservations early) and enjoyed that as well. The beach is the best on the island. And the diving reefs are all a quick boat ride away. The nightly entertainment was worth staying awake for. The one drawback is getting to town is a costly taxi ride but there is plenty to do on the property itself. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

I was in Cozumel to compete in the Ironman (this was one of the host hotels). I regret not researching this resort before I booked my package. The food was ok at best, but the noise and smoking were insane. I could not get a good night sleep because I could hear all the yelling, crying, and TVs in neighbors' rooms. I thought about sleeping on my balcony to escape the noise, but my downstairs neighbor would sit outside and smoke all night. I couldn't enjoy the pool or beach area because too many people were smoking there as well. Nothing says paradise like relaxing in the sun and chain-smoking. Please don't stay here unless you enjoy being bothered by obnoxious, noisy families. My friend stayed at the Sabor, which I visited and found to be relaxing, quiet, and more suited for people with atleast a drop of class. I will stay there next year.

Great trip! The Allegro Cozumel is similar to the Allegro Playacar. Cozumel is isolated. The grounds are well kept, rooms are clean, staff freindly, great beach. Food was good, always something for us on the buffet. Not very crowded early Dec.

It was the perfect hotel and location if you are wanting to dive. It was a cheap and cheerful resort! The hotel staff was very friendly. The rooms were very clean even thou dated. The food was much better then I would have expected at this resort for the price I paid. The beach was perfect with long stretches to walk along. Having the dock and dive shop on the resort was very handy and made gettting to and from dives easy. I will go back and tell other friends about the resort. It is not a 5 star but I would rather take two holidays down to this hotel rather then pay for one stay at a 5 star resort once. And trust me I am a bit of a princess. If your love is to dive....and amenties are not important... then this is the place to go.

We really got a great deal price wise. The resort's thatched roofs need some attention, we actually had to relocate to another room due to a leak onto the bed. Not really a big deal, however not sure how it could be, but I think the bed in the new room was even more uncomfortable. The buffet food, not so good, however the two other restaurants were pretty good. The service was fabulous, the staff is very attentive and polite. It is obvious that they care about your enjoyment. Great beach.

We have stayed at the Allegro a few times over the years. The resort s starting to show it's age. The buffet use to be much larger and tasted better then it's counter part the Occidental. I think they are putting most of the money into the new resort. Things are starting to show it's age for sure. Staff was great like always. Rooms were clean.

The hotel is very nice with it's well kept grounds, clean rooms and the icing on the cake is the beautiful beach! The food was a bit to be desired as it was the same thing every day and every meal. The pools were very dirty but having such a beautiful beach, who can complain. There was no service poolside or on the beach so you do have to spend a lot of time getting dried off and dressed to go get any drinks you want. The taxi ride to town is very expensive at $30 round trip. So be sure to plan any outings carefully and the price goes up with each added passenger. Overall it was a great vacation. Would I go back? Yes, for the price it is a very nice hotel with good service. I know the slower season did factor into some of the facility and food issues so I would rather deal with that than a huge crowd!
