Haven't seen anything like this "hotel" in my life! No AC, have to open the window to survive the heat and the smell. In which case mosquitoes will suck all your blood. Requested two beds, but got only one full size. Didn't sleep all night, because of the mosquitoes, the smell and the tiny bed. If you are "spoiled" by American hospitality services (even at the motel level), run away from this place as far as you can.

When I booked the room, I didn't know I am getting a room as tiny as a bathroom in any other hotel I have been. Plus, we had to share the bathroom (I can't even describe its size). The stuff either didn't speak English, or had no interest in answering questions. The price was as high as a regular room ($100). Don't waste your precious time and your money in this hole.

Tricky to find, but once you have it's a good location. Five minutes walk to the Rialto Bridge and less than a ten minute walk to St Mark's Sqaure. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Bedroom and bathroom were adequate. Breakfast was disappointing: cereal with the consistency of cardboard, squash was provided (not fruit juice), fruit yogurts which had clearly never been near fruit, very sweet croissants etc. Good place to stay, but don't bother with breakfast.

Three of us stayed in Al Gazzettino in March. We were a little apprehensive as we only paid €75 for a triple room. Well we a wounderful stay the hotel is in a fantastic location, room had everything you would need but best of all the staff were so nice. They went out of their way to organise a trip to the glass factory. If i ever go to Venice again i will certainly will stay here

This was a lovely hotel in a brilliant location. A couple of minutes walk to Rialto Vaporetta one way, and a couple of minutes to San Marco Square in the other direction. It is set back down a little lane though, and finding it at night can be a little tricky. It is also set virtually on the canal and the smell can be rather off putting. The bathroom in our room could have down with a damn good scrub. I found myself having to clean the shower before i used it. I also had to let the shower run for some 5 - 10 minute before the hot water started to appear. The television had approximately a 10" screen and was mounted to the 12 foot ceiling, which made it rather difficult to see! Breakfast was nice, but just not enough. You are served with coffee and a single croissant. I actually sat there waiting, wondering if something else was going to to served. For the price it was ok, but shop around. At the end of the day, your only sleeping there, and it does what it says on the packet.
