Haven't seen anything like this "hotel" in my life! No AC, have to open the window to survive the heat and the smell. In which case mosquitoes will suck all your blood. Requested two beds, but got only one full size. Didn't sleep all night, because of the mosquitoes, the smell and the tiny bed. If you are "spoiled" by American hospitality services (even at the motel level), run away from this place as far as you can.

When I booked the room, I didn't know I am getting a room as tiny as a bathroom in any other hotel I have been. Plus, we had to share the bathroom (I can't even describe its size). The stuff either didn't speak English, or had no interest in answering questions. The price was as high as a regular room ($100). Don't waste your precious time and your money in this hole.

Tricky to find, but once you have it's a good location. Five minutes walk to the Rialto Bridge and less than a ten minute walk to St Mark's Sqaure. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Bedroom and bathroom were adequate. Breakfast was disappointing: cereal with the consistency of cardboard, squash was provided (not fruit juice), fruit yogurts which had clearly never been near fruit, very sweet croissants etc. Good place to stay, but don't bother with breakfast.

Three of us stayed in Al Gazzettino in March. We were a little apprehensive as we only paid €75 for a triple room. Well we a wounderful stay the hotel is in a fantastic location, room had everything you would need but best of all the staff were so nice. They went out of their way to organise a trip to the glass factory. If i ever go to Venice again i will certainly will stay here

This was a lovely hotel in a brilliant location. A couple of minutes walk to Rialto Vaporetta one way, and a couple of minutes to San Marco Square in the other direction. It is set back down a little lane though, and finding it at night can be a little tricky. It is also set virtually on the canal and the smell can be rather off putting. The bathroom in our room could have down with a damn good scrub. I found myself having to clean the shower before i used it. I also had to let the shower run for some 5 - 10 minute before the hot water started to appear. The television had approximately a 10" screen and was mounted to the 12 foot ceiling, which made it rather difficult to see! Breakfast was nice, but just not enough. You are served with coffee and a single croissant. I actually sat there waiting, wondering if something else was going to to served. For the price it was ok, but shop around. At the end of the day, your only sleeping there, and it does what it says on the packet.

I stayed with my girlfriend for a couple of nights as the last part of our tour of Italy itinerary. And I'm glad we did, as Venice is an incredible finale to any tour. The hotel is located on a narrow stretch of canal, still negotiable by the boat taxis, a 5 minute walk from both Rialto and St Mark's. It's a friendly hotel, and the proprietors are helpful. The room was almost royal in appearance and very comfortable. The bathroom was a little small but adequate. Anyone who stays there will be overwhelmed and will be delighted by their choice.

Hotel very well located with easy access to almost anywhere in Venice. Staff ably assisted with directions to the particular arts venues on our list. Our room was larger than expected however lighting poor. Breakfast was included - a rather regimented experience and the ultimate in portion control. My partner received a pot of tea, me a solitary cup of coffee. When I asked for another, I was asked to pay. Why not raise the tariff. Despite that, would stay again.

We were suprised by this hotel. The location is so perfect. It is about 5 minutes walk from san marco basilica on one direction and also 5 minutes walk from the rialto bridge on another direction. The room was VERY spacious and very comfortable. The comfort rooms are clean. The room is also serviced everyday.

Excellent location, very close to Rialto & St. Marks with no bridges to cross with heavy luggage. Room was very nice - spotlessly clean and nicely decorated. The only problem was our room on the 4th floor - no lift. The guy at reception very kindly helped my 80 yr old mother with her case. We emailed in advance for a lower floor room but got the very highest level instead. Nice but simple breakfast, great coffee!! I will definately stay there again as the location is perfect - just hope for a lower floor room.

We found the hotel to be very central. The gondoliers pass under the bedroom window. It is a good location for visiting and getting to know Venice

The second time that me and my partner have stayed at this hotel. Fantastic location, 2 mins from Rialto and 5 mins from San Marco. Friendly staff, lovely clean rooms. And you can book a taxi to pick you up from the canal outside the Hotel. Looking on some other sites people have complained about the lack of lift. This never bothered me as you only take it up once and down once.

Some mosquitoes, but I don't think this was the fault of the hotel. I like sleeping with the window open! Very helpful and looked after our bags for a long time too!

Excellent location, few minutes walk from the Rialto Bridge and St. Mark Square. The room was just like on the photos and perfectly clean. The view is amazing. Friendly staff. Low price for this quality. Absolutely recommended.

We hada twin room and although the room was small which meant the twin beds were qutie close, we can fault very little else about the hotel. Good breakfast, friendly staff for the most part who were able to assist us in answering most questions. The hotel is in a good location close to the shopping area, which we were happy with as well as a great location between the Rialto Bridge and San Marco. I would definately recommend this to people going to Venice and are on a budget and would stay there again.
