stayed there in 1979 and as one of the first hotels in the sultanate-would want to stay again as very convenient for most faciclities and did enjoy this hotel

We stayed here twice, our first room was not as good as our second but the hotel is undergoing renovations so selection of rooms was limited. The staff were fantastic and went out of their way to make us as comfortable and welcome as possible. They were all very courteous and polite and we enjoyed our meals here, breakfast in particular is yummy! The waffles are divine!! Ali, one of the hotels taxi drivers looked after us very well also, would pick us up whenever we asked, were sorry to say goodbye to him at 2.30am at the airport.

Unlike all the hotels we stayed at in Oman, the food was very poor. We were particularly disappointed that reconstituted milk was served at all times, instead of fresh.

The hotel is a bit out of way with no convenient store nearby. None within walking distance anyway. Overall, it is a good hotel as a 3 star hotel, not 4 star.
