Al Duca Di Venezia Hotel Venice Guest Reviews (3)
By no means was it a bad experience here, there were just a few minor complaints regarding the hotel. They put us on the 3rd floor which wouldn't normally be a problem, except we had 100 pounds of luggage and the elevator only goes to the second floor. After reviewing the fire escape map, I also found that we were in by far the smallest room in the hotel. Not sure if this was because we booked through Orbitz or just a coincidence. When we arrived to our room there was a grossly overpowering potpourri smell coming from somewhere (we never found it) that left us smelling like grandma's house for the remainder of our trip. The breakfast wasn't bad, but also was not nearly as substantial as any of our other hotels in Italy. When you leave the hotel you have to leave your key at the front desk, which isn't a huge deal, it just means that someone has to be manning the front desk for you to be able to get back into your room (there was always someone there). We had one issue with hot water in the morning but the very friendly hotel manager solved this for us very quickly. With all of this in mind, I would recommend this place as long as these are acceptable accommodations for you.

The hotel and rooms are gorgeous! The staff is courteous and helpful with restaurant tips and arranging tour to Murano for a glass factory tour. Easy walk or water bus ride from train station and San Marcos/Rialto areas. Take a good map as it is easy to get lost in Venice with all the canals. It is a beautiful city!

I'd highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Venice. It's not in the main touristy areas which makes it nice and quiet. At the same time it is in relatively close walking distance to all the sights, and it has a museum next door which makes it easier to find (follow the signs for the museum). The hotel has that great mix of classic charm and updated amenities.
