absolutely brilliant value for money, our room was a great size, ideally located and had everything we could possibly need, food was excellent.

Loved it, loved it, loved it!! Stayed in a Castle Room and dined at the Restaurant on our first night which is a short walk away next to the 'new' hotel part of the Castle Hotel. Dining and reception staff were great amd the food was the best without a doubt. Breakfast was included in our deal and again a short walk from the castle but it had a terrific spread - much more than we could sample. Wish we could have stayed longer. Sept 2008, Australia

I had a read a lot of bad reviews about this hotel, but as we were attending a wedding here we thought we would book it as just a room to stay in. To be honest, our room wasn't bad. Some of the other wedding guests were complaining about peeling wallpaper etc but ours showed none of that. It was a large-ish room with an LCD tv and a comfy bed. The one complaint I would have is the lack of air conditioning or extractor fan in the bathroom, which made it very hot at night. Good for staying in if your there already, but it's not the luxury that the normal price would suggest.
