We stayed at the Affinia for 4 nights pre-Christmas. The location was very convenient - close to Times Square (10 mins), Empire State Building (10 mins), Madison Square Gardens (2 mins) & Penn Station (5 mins). Other sights such as Fifth Ave, Grand Central etc were a bit further away but still within walking distance. The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly, from the receptionist on check-in to the maintenance man who serviced our central heating. The hotel is elegantly decorated in an art deco style, and there is a lovely bar at the entrance which is the perfect spot for drinks to start your NY adventure. Our room was nicely refurbished, comfortable and very clean, however it was very small! Saying that, you're in NY to experience the city that never sleeps, not to stay in your hotel room so this wasn't an issue for us. And I've heard that most NY hotel rooms are small. The other downside is the traffic noise from outside (also something most NY hotels would share) however the hotel does provide earplugs which worked a treat! Overall verdict: elegant, clean, comfortable hotel with extremely friendly staff in a very convenient neighbourhood - and very well priced. We were very happy with our choice, would certainly stay here again, and would recommend it to other travellers without hesitation.

Great Hotel in a great spot. Easy access to all New York had to offer. Really enjoyed the restaurant attached to hotel. Great for brekky!

We spent 6 nights at the Affinia and were completely impressed. We loved our spacious room which gave us all somewhere to unwind after big days of sightseeing. The staff were all friendly, it was lovely and warm and made a great home away from home. The location was fantastic - we were able to walk to so many amazing places otherwise we simply walked across the street and took the subway. We would love to stay at the Affinia again.

We stayed at the Affinia Manhattan in September 2012 for my birthday trip to NYC. The location is superb - close to many of the sites incl the Empire State building and Times Sq and lots of subway stations close by. It is located directly opposite Madison Square Garden and Penn Station. The room was beautifully decorated and very spacious (a rarity in NYC so I'm told) and the bed was very very comfortable. The bathroom was small but all we needed. The staff were very helpful and super nice. Always happy to help with personal requests, print documents and advise on attractions and places to eat/drink/visit. I would recommend this hotel to anyone - it is a GEM!

we found our room to be more than expected, but thought the price could have been better. the room was exceptionally clean and tidy every day with the opportunity to cook in the kitchenette if needed. the hotel restaurant offered exceptional meals at a reasonable price
