Affinia 50 Hotel New York Guest Reviews
We were only there one night, bathroom was small but nice. The handle on the closet door was about to fall off, but once I got passed that the room was spacious by NYC standards and the staff was helpful. Their lunch suggestion, the National, was great.

Affinia 50 is an excellent hotel located in the center of most attractions in Manhattan. I was very pleased with this choice and found the amenities well appointed. However, I was told when booking a suite that the suite had a bedroom with two beds and a living room with a sofabed. Well, we got a "junior studio" suite which was one room with two beds and no living room. I did not investigate whether the chair made into a bed. It would have been nice to have the living room to have family gatherings. We used the second floor lounge instead.

I had a great experience at Affinia 50 and would definitely stay there again. As soon as I pulled up in front of the hotel, a staff person came to greet us and valet the car for us. Everyone was very friendly. The room was very nicely decorated, clean and spacious. The room had a mini fridge full of all kinds of drinks and snacks. The location was great, walking distance from Times Square and Central Park. Also, at the end of my stay, I checked out, and the hotel held on to my luggage until the end of the day, so I was still able to walk around the city without having to worry about carrying those around. The price was great ($200/night), a lot better than everywhere else I looked. I will definitely go back because the staff was very friendly and it was a nice hotel!

Affinia 50 has a great location, a couple blocks away from Marriott Courtyard, McDonalds, and a 24-hour CVS Pharmacy. The staff is friendly. Fast check-in and out, but I could have been just lucky. Very clean beddings, very comfortable bed. The room was a good size, clean, no smell. Clean and updated bathroom. Good water pressure. Nearly everything was in a good working condition. I could not turn on the floor lamp, so it was a little darker in the room. Also the bath tub light was acting up, but the main bathroom light was enough. AC is not smelly and not too noisy. AC controls work well. There was noticeable non-stop noise coming from outside. That could be b/c of commercial AC units. My room was facing the backyard, and it was the 3rd floor. I'd assume the higher floors are quieter. There is a minifridge in the room filled with beer. There were lots of other goodies on the table. I chose this hotel b/c it ran a promotion and was the cheapest in the area and star rating I was looking for, yet had a pretty high consumer rating on travel web sites. I support that - I think it was a pretty good value for the money. P.S. As I flew to and from Newark airport, I encountered some issues with transportation. If you are not using taxi and take a train Newark - Penn Station, keep in mind that it takes 2 transfers (3 different trains) between Penn Station and the hotel. On my way back, I decided to take a bus Manhatten-Newark, which departs from pretty much a walking distance from the hotel (~10 min walk), but the bus took about 45 minutes to get there (at 5am!) instead of the promised 1/2 hour. I think it could take a lot longer by bus during rush hours.
