Great location for getting to anywhere in sydney. Main tourist attractions like the Harbour, Opera house and Bridge are at the other end of the business district but are just short trip by easily accessed train, bus or Taxi. Our room was a reasonable size and very quiet considering its next to the main train station and a busy bus station. Cutley, toaster, microwave, electric jug and sink are provided and even breakfast packs can be purchased at reception. A number of local restaurants will deliver to the room but there are plenty of very good restaurants a short walk or taxi ride away. Parking is on site at a cost of $30. No free wi fi. We were looking for a base in Sydney for our short but frequent stays and this may be it. We'll be back.

Just came from Wollongong Medina, where it was great in every aspect. This place was old and had been renovated to relfect a one bedroom aprartment. Where it fell down we stayed on the 1st Floor and the noise was quite loud during the evenings (Not sound proofed at all). It had an unusal balcony door lock and the balcony was not cleaned at all with bird poo and dust everywhere. Third night had to call reception as the staff removed the old towels and did not replace them. Otherwise location was good.

I travel regularly to Sydney for business and I have toyed with the Idea of staying at the Medina Executive in the past. I recently had to stay several nights, so I thought I'd give it a try. Appearances are deceiving. Past the well kept historic exterior and lobby, the hotel is a patchwork of spackle. The room I was allocated had a bed that felt like a bunch of rocks and feathers wrapped up in a sheet. When I asked if there was another room with a better bed (which I have never had to do in the past), I was treated as "that trouble-making guest". In short, this was my first and last stay at the Medina Executive. There are many other places to stay that offer better accomodation at lower prices.

There is nothing special about this place but the central location is great. I was also surprised by how quiet it was - obviously well insulated to keep the ambient nose out. Room was clean to start which was a good thing as housekeeping missed the room one of the two days. The bed and pillows were utterly horrible, and the courteous but not particularly friendly front counter staff tried to charge me for a bottle of water from the minibar which I hadn't used.

I stayed in Medina Executive Sydney for 5 nights, and I had been moved room for 3 times. There were something wrong with the Air Conditioner, first day we arrived the room was stuffed and hot, the service room checked the air cond and there was a faulty in the engine, then they moved me to another room. On the 4th night, the air cond suddenly shut down itself at 12am, we rang the receptionist to have a look and again he said "Engine Fault" and they could not do anything because there were no vacancy room and they could offer me a fan for the night. On our last night there, the air cond was off. They checked up and again “engine fault”. The receptionist lady called our room and I disappointed from a 4 star hotel customer service. She was rude to us, even the manager on duty kept saying "there is nothing else we can do". This is not good for us. We are so disappointed they can just give us 7% credits from what I paid. I would never ever going back to that hotel again.
