Great location, staff were great. Didn't try restaurant. Room looked nice and had fridge. Bed had extreme roll together and shower head was high and non-adjustable.

I liked the hotel and most of the staff were lovely, the first person on reception was a young man who was a little rude, I had booked a Queen room adn he put me in a double and he argued about it, which i thought was unprofessional, luckily I had my booking confirmation printed. Everyone else was fantastic, cleaners were great as was the young lady manning reception on the Sunday morning. My room was ona side road and was a little noisey on Saturday nigth about 2am, but that was no ones fault, just something to be aaware of with young kids. Overall a great experiance. I'd stay there again. many thanks

We wanted a room with a walk in shower, and we got that. Double bed and single bed - free upgrade given. Our room was on Dixon St which is noisy. Needed to leave the window open because no aircon which made it noisy. Great Chinese Restaurant across road (Yangtse), clost to Cuba St Mall. Restaurant in hotel (Bistro 169) average and a little pricey and was disappointing - food average and coffee bad. Supermarket close by on Willis St, and pharmacies close. Good shopping. Fabulous Convenience Store just next door in case you forgot something. Tap Haus Bar just down Dixon St was good, bar across on Willis St good too.

This hotel is well-situated and most of its facilities are fine. Two things: need to re-tune the TV, and put a proper table to sit at in the room! But would stay there again.

Cheaper than most hotels in Wellington but still (too?) expensive (with parking and internet about $200 a night) for an average room (a bit smelly, old TV, etc.).

Room was not ready by 2pm checkin, despite having dropped off my bags a few hours earlier; (hence the 3 for staff rating... friendly enough, but someone must be disorganised for this to happen) however complimentary continental breakfast was provided as recompense for this. Room is a good size, with plenty of desk surfaces and power outlets. No electric blanket. Curtains are not black-out, and I needed ear-plugs to reduce street noise. Bathroom was very tired even though it was supposedly a "superior room" which the website says is "recently refurbished." Broken tiles, messy shower corners etc... could do with another refurbishment.

I discovered this hotel a couple of trips back and thought "Standard room? Yeah, pleasant enough". But the superior rooms are a different story. Excellent value. Thanks.

After checking in at 1am, I was given keys to my room, which upon entering was stone cold and without any form of heating! Upon walking into the bathroom, I was greeted by a few black hairs in the vanity, not a nice surprise, but enough that I could get over it. When I pulled back the sheets to get into my hard bed, I was once again greeted by the complimentary hairs and also those black hairs again! I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, and would recommend staying somewhere else where possible. I was not able to make a reservation anywhere else s I was travelling at the last minute.

Very convenient location to walk into city. Car parking in basement handy, but very narrow. Lovely to have a cafe onsite. Enjoyed our stay. Thankyou.

I was very impressed by the standard of presentation and cleanliness which along with the excellent service I encountered from each staff member (check in and 2 cleaning staff) made my stay easier and more enjoyable

The staff were very efficient and friendly and the room was very clean and neat - and very important - you had enough tea, coffee and hot chocolate - which helps if you have to work through the night - which I had to do.

Handy to several attractions in central Wellington, the Abel Tasman, although forty or more years old and lacking the bells and whistles of the newer and more expensive places, is scrupulously clean, the rooms reasonably spacious, the beds clean, comfortable and warm, the staff friendly and polite. The adjoining bistro does a limited but excellent quality menu for dinner, a formidable array of different things for breakfast and some pretty decent beer. Staff here are friendly and attentive. Well worth staying if you are in the budget range.

Good value - but a lot of street noise. Would be nice to have real milk in rooms not that horrible long life stuff.
