AAE San Diego 500 West Hotel Guest Reviews
It was okay for a few days. The shared restrooms were not good. It should have been advertised that it was te YMCA and a residential living facility. That was not good at all. Very loud at night.

The staff and management were courteous and very responsive to my needs. The price was reasonable and accommodations as expected. The hotel is conveniently located downtown, near transportation, nightlife, dining, and commerce.

I was looking for an alternative to an expensive hotel near the convention center. This fit the bill. However, I can see that it would not be for everyone. The building is old, and bathrooms are shared. The YMCA is located in the basement, and I was able to use the Y for just $5 per day. The Y opened at 5:30 a.m. (weekdays), and I was able to get in a good workout before sitting all day in conference workshops. The convention center was about an eight-block walk, and I could get stop for coffee and a pastry on the way.
