70 Park Avenue A Kimpton Hotel New York
3 out of 5

Large rooms, beds really comfortable, only 5 minute walk from Grand Central Station, 10 minutes from The Empire State building. Although polite the staff were not overly helpful. Concierge not very knowledgable. This is a pet friendly hotel so we had barking dogs in the room next to us and had to share lifts with large dogs leaving dog hair on your clothes. Lifts smelt of animals as well. Room Service finishes at 9.30, the attached tavern only does bar snacks, no meals. They have a nice happy hour from 5 - 7pm each night serving wine in the lobby and have fresh coffee and tea served in the lobby from 7am, however what they dont tell you is that you can request a coffee maker in your room. Ask for a room at the rear of the hotel as we had a park avenue facing room which was really noisy with traffic, emergency vehicles etc. Knowing what I know now I would stay again but would now know what to ask for in the room.

That's really it. Nice hotel well located close to grand enteral station and subway as well as times square, 5th ave. and other attractions. Rooms are very small not enough space to maneuver. Very small yet functional bathroom.

This is the least impressive Kimpton hotel I've visited. The staff was very polite and helpful but the room was disappointing. I coud touch the ceilings standing flat footed and the finish out was done poorly. Bed was comfortable and the linens were nice. There are better 4 star options in the area.

The hotel is just 5 mins from Grand Central Terminal which made it perfect for travelling around. 15 mins walk and you can be at the Empire State Building or TImes Square. We stopped in a double queen which was lovely and comfortable. We had a little difficulty with the heating but to be honest it wasn't a major issue so we didn't follow up. The linen was nice and clean though some of the furniture looked a little dated,as did the bathroom.

Quiet area yet only a couple of blocks from the hustle and bustle of Times Square. Wine hour is a great idea and very sociable. Special mention to Kevin the concierge who arranged our transfers to the hotel from the airport - thanks again. Beds were really comfy which was greatly appreciated after hours and hours of shopping. As this was our first visit to NYC I would highly recommend this hotel due to location, value for money and overall ambience.

I stayed here for four nights with my partner as I was running the NY marathon. The hotel was just perfect. A lovely cosy little home from home. The staff were smiling, helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Our room was bright and airy, was spotless and the decor and layout was so gorgeous I want my bedroom back home to look similar. Will definitely stay here again when we return to New York early next year.Well done to the Kimpton hotel group for a really memorable stay.

This is the best hotel I have stayed in ever in New York, including a 5 star hotel in SoHo. The staff were so professional and knowledgeable. The added services aimed at women were perfect and made the holiday easier. The room was so lovely, bigger than I expected and beautifully appointed. I would recommend this hotel to anyone going to New York, it will enhance your trip

I have stayed in many hotels in the city but by far this was the best. I prefer smaller boutique style hotels . The location is superb, staff super friendly and helpful. The fitness center is around the corner , just a short few block walk. Makes you feel like you are a part of the city. Wine hour is a bonus! The best kept secret, I feel like I've found a gem!!

This hotel is in a great location - most place are within walking distance. The staff were all very helpful and friendly - we arrived before check in time but our rooms were ready. They recomended some great reatuarants nearby and the complimentry wine in the evening was very nice!! It is not the cheapest hotel but you definately get what you pay for!

we stayed two nights - the room was lovely with an incredible view of the Empire State. The room was spotless and the beds wonderfully comfortable. The location is perfect for everything either in midtown or downtown with great restaurants, delis and coffee shops on yr doorstep.Staff were very friendly and most helpful. Id have loved tea/coffee facilities in the room as we arrived late on a Sunday and the restaurant and bar were closed but there was complimentary tea/cofee in the bar till 9am.Would have been nice to have that bar area open during the day for drinks as you do a lot of walking and the hotel was a perfect haven away from the busy streets.Breakfast is available and of a very high standard but not included in price of room which I had assumed - an expensive mistake.Overall, it was a delight to stay here.

Our room in this small boutique style hotel was compact but very well designed and had good in-room entertainment, including huge flat-screen TV and iPod dock. The Hotel location was really excellent - just a couple of blocks south of grand central station; so perfect for walking and shopping and just a short cab ride to Soho & little Italy. On the down side our room had very little natural light and was tucked away at the back of the hotel with no view and constant noise from aircon outside. Niggles aside, I would definitely stay here again.

I would not hesitate in staying at this lovely hotel again for my next stay. Convenient location, spacious rooms, excellent facilities, friendly staff and good value for money compared to a certain 'boutique' hotel on West 58th! The one that begins with 'H'. Thank you to everyone.
